Minnesota sweeps Purdue, Northwestern<\/h3>\n
The Minnesota men defeated Purdue 188-164 and beat Northwestern 226-127. The Purdue men beat Northwestern 197-156.<\/p>\n
The Minnesota women beat Purdue 203.5-149.5 and Northwestern 202-151. Purdue beat Northwestern 186-167.<\/p>\n
The two-day meet was chalk full of B cut times, event wins, and pool records as three different Gophers set new top times in Northwestern’s home pool. In addition to the 10 event wins that the Minnesota swimmers posted on the second day of competition, Sarah Bacon brought home a first-place finish in the diving well as she stood atop the podium with a score of 331.15 in the 1-meter competition.<\/p>\n
Bowen Becker<\/strong> swam his second B cut of the meet as he touched the wall in 43.24 to win the 100 Freestyle. Lindsey Kozelsky<\/strong> also posted a second B cut time this weekend as she swam the 200 Breaststroke in 2:11.59 to win the event.<\/p>\nChantal Nack<\/strong> and Tevyn Waddell<\/strong> claimed first and second-place finishes in the 200 Backstroke with their respective B cut times of 1:56.55 and 1:56.79. Waddell also swam a B cut in the 100 Butterfly, which she won with her time of 53.68. Nack put up a second event win on Saturday as she swam a 4:48.60 in the 500 Freestyle to beat the competition.<\/p>\nPurdue Saturday winners included Danielle Auckley<\/strong> (100 free), Ben Bramley<\/strong> (3-meter) and Nick McDowell<\/strong> (500 free).<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
Nebraska beats Rutgers on senior day<\/h3>\n
The Nebraska swimming and diving team defeated Rutgers on senior day after a two-day dual with a final score of 193-160.<\/p>\n
The Husker divers continued to show their strength with All-American Abi Knapton<\/strong> finishing first in the 1-meter dive (292.95).<\/p>\nAudrey Coffey<\/strong> posted a first place finish in the 1650-yard freestyle (17:23.09). Senior captain Kaylyn Flatt<\/strong> came in fourth (17:37.20).<\/p>\nGwen Worlton<\/strong> (1:04.77) and Tori Beeler<\/strong> (1:06.25) took first and second in the 100-yard breaststroke, respectively.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
Ohio State sweeps with odd distance races<\/h3>\n
The No. 13 men and No. 15 women\u2019s Ohio State swimming & diving team finished the home dual slate on a high note, downing Pitt with a sweep on Friday night at McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion. The men\u2019s team took the win by a score of 193-107, while the women\u2019s team topped the Panthers 199.5-96.5.<\/p>\n
Friday\u2019s meet was Senior Night, and featured a tribute to the 12 Buckeyes graduating from the team following this season. The group includes Big Ten Champions, school record holders and All-Americans that spent an impressive four years improving the Ohio State legacy.<\/p>\n

Iowa wins twice at home<\/h3>\n
The University of Iowa swimming and diving team dominated in its final regular season meet of the season, sweeping Western Illinois and Northern Iowa at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center.<\/p>\n
The Hawkeye men swept all 12 events to beat Western Illinois, 151-56, while the women posted two victories, downing Western Illinois (172-49) and Northern Iowa (137-86).<\/p>\n
The Iowa men finish the regular season with a 6-2 dual record, the women are 6-6.<\/p>\n
Junior Allyssa Fluit<\/strong> (1:49.85) and freshman Lauren McDougall<\/strong> (1:50.11) took first and second in the women\u2019s 200 free to continue Iowa’s surge.<\/p>\nSophomore Thomas Pederson<\/strong> (1:38.00), freshman Aleksey Tarasenko<\/strong> (1:39.89), freshman Jackson Allmon<\/strong> (1:40.87), and senior Ben<\/strong> Colin<\/strong> (1:43.46) took the top four spots in the men\u2019s 200 free. Pederson\u2019s time was a career best.<\/p>\nThe sprints showed their dominance with a top-four sweep in the 50 free by junior Steve Fiolic<\/strong> (20.49), junior Sam Dumford<\/strong> (20.82), senior Matt Kamin<\/strong> (20.92), and junior Michael Tenney<\/strong> (21.01).<\/p>\nThe women swept the 100 fly with top three finishes from sophomores Kelsey Drake<\/strong> (54.88) and Sarah Schemmel<\/strong> (56.95), and Morgan Grout<\/strong> (58.58).<\/p>\nThe men followed with a top-four sweep in the 100 fly from sophomore Jackson Kuhlers<\/strong> (49.37) and freshman Matjaz Rozman<\/strong> (49.65), Dumford (49.89), and Tarasenko (50.05). Kuhlers, Dumford, and Tarasenko recorded season-bests.<\/p>\nThe final sweep came in the 100 free from junior Will Scott<\/strong> (44.75), freshman Mateusz Arndt<\/strong> (45.60), Kamin (45.80), and senior Kenneth<\/strong> Mende<\/strong> (46.14).<\/p>\nIowa dominated the 3-meter springboards with sophomore Jayah Mathews<\/strong> (380.20), freshman Sam Tamborski (<\/strong>355.05), and senior Jacintha<\/strong> Thomas<\/strong> (310.20) placing 1-2-3. All three scores were career bests. Mathews also won the 1-meter springboard with a score of 324.70.<\/p>\nSenior Will Brenner<\/strong> dominated on the boards for the men with two first-place finishes, winning the 1-meter with a score of 349.35 and 3-meter with a 394.30. Brenner\u2019s score off the 3-meter was a career best.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
Penn State beats Villanova<\/h3>\n
Penn State men\u2019s swimming and diving had eight different event winners in a win over Villanova Wildcats Friday evening in the Villanova Swim Complex.<\/p>\n
On the boards, Garcia Boissier<\/strong> swept the diving competitions with a win in the 1-meter with a score of 375.30, and the 3-meter (402.37), a pool record. In the 1-meter, Jack Crow<\/strong> finished in second (296.17). In the 3-meter, John Crow again placed second (332.92).<\/p>\nFor the swimmers, senior co-captain Robbie Dickso<\/strong>n started off the individual events with a first-place finish in the 1000 free (9:49.11).<\/p>\nHayden Harlow<\/strong> placed in first in two events, including the 200 breast and a sweep in the 200 free. Following Harlow in the 200 free was Eben<\/strong> Krigger<\/strong> (1:41.08) and Michael Daly<\/strong> (1:41.87). Daly also had a first place finish in the 200 back (1:50.40).<\/p>\nIn the 100 back, Alec Peckmann<\/strong> finished first (50.29) with Will Roberson<\/strong> trailing in third with a time of 52.96. Roberson also came in second in the 50 free (20.51), with Gabe Castano<\/strong> coming in first place (20.21), a pool record.<\/p>\nMatthew Dinunzio<\/strong> also had a first place finish for the Nittany Lions, with a first-place finish in the 200 fly (1:50.18) with Jacob Deckman<\/strong> trailing with a time of 1:53.54. Deckman also had a second-place finish in the 500 free (4:45.19), following Krigger, who placed first with a time of 4:45.13. Adding to the list of first-place finishes was Liam Veregin<\/strong> in the 100 free (46.10).<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
MSU falls to Notre Dame<\/h3>\n
In a tough battle against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, the Spartans fell at home. The men lost 108-188 and women lost 101-196.<\/p>\n
Sam Villani<\/strong> captured the first victory of the day for the Spartans in the 100 backstroke. Villani finished with a time of 56.65.<\/p>\nThe women’s 100 breaststroke was won by Ana Sortland<\/strong> with a time of 1:03.23.<\/p>\nThe men claimed their first victory in the 100 breaststroke due to Jonathan Lee<\/strong> who clocked in at 56.73. Lee also placed second in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:03.86.<\/p>\nIn the 50 freestyle, Payton Woods<\/strong> claimed second while Kevin Mills<\/strong> took third. They finished with times of 20.78 and 21.02, respectively.<\/p>\nRoche got a Spartan victory in the 200 breaststroke as she finished with a time of 2:19.24. Sortland came in at third with a time of 2:21.83.<\/p>\n
