Marjorie Gestring<\/h2>\n<p>The youngest Olympic gold medalist ever in aquatic sports was diver <strong>Marjorie Gestring<\/strong> of the United States, who won the 3-meter springboard competition at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin&#8230;at age 13 years, 268 days!<\/p>\n<p>Gestring had finished second at the Olympic tryouts at New York\u2019s Astoria Park Pool behind Katherine Rawls of Florida, so it was Rawls who was considered the favorite to take home the gold after she captured the silver medal in 1932 behind Georgia Coleman. Brooke, now a sophomore, is a three-time senior national champion as well as a gold medalist at the 2017 Junior Pan Ams and 2014 Junior Worlds as well as a silver medalist at the 2017 World University Games.
