NORTH Baltimore&#039;s Chase Kalisz&#039;s swim finally answered the question of who will win the 400 IM at the 2013 USA Swimming nationals. Kalisz talks about using Michael Phelps&#039; expertise in practice to help develop his 400 IM and 200 butterfly. He also says that he doesn&#039;t want the public to think he won the 400 IM at World Championship Trials by default because Ryan Lochte scratched, and looks forward to racing Lochte man to man in the future. <\/p>\n<p>Men&#039;s 400 IM recap: Keyed by a remarkable breaststroke, where he overhauled 200 back Olympic champ Tyler Clary for the lead, Kalisz captured his first national championship with a time of 4:11.83. That clipped Kalisz&#039;s sixth-ranked season best of 4:11.85 from Santa Clara, and he likely has more in the tank considering head coach Bob Bowman&#039;s ability to get people to be on point for the big meet. <\/p>\n<p>Clary still managed to get another potential spot heading to Barcelona with a 4:14.62 that cleared the FINA A cut.
