WESTERN Kentucky&#039;s Claire Donahue talks about the pros and cons of not reaching her lifetime best in the 100 fly at the 2013 USA Swimming nationals. She also talks about having her appendix removed several months ago, and how she&#039;s not using the surgery as an excuse to settle for less than her best. <\/p>\n<p>Women&#039;s 100 fly recap: World record holder Dana Vollmer trailed fellow Olympian Claire Donahue at the turn, but came home in 30.81 to secure a 57.53 for the win. That time vaulted Vollmer to third in the world behind only Alicia Coutts (57.18) and Katerine Savard (57.40). <\/p>\n<p>Donahue, who went out hard with a 26.63 at the turn, raced home for second with a time of 58.32.
