THE competition in the Sette Colli meet in Rome today featured some great swims by the team from Hungary, including a tough double by Zsusanna Jakabos. She won the 200 fly and 400 IM  with impressive in-season times, waiting until the final 150 meters to pull away from teammate Evelyn Verraszto in the 400 IM. Another great race for Hungary was the men&#039;s 200 fly, in which Bence Pulai won in a lifetime best of 1:58.46. He was in seventh place at the 150 and made a strong charge to get under the two-minute barrier for the first time.<\/p>\n<p>Another notable Hungarian, Katinka Hosszu, is racing in Canet starting tomorrow in the final stop on the Mare Nostrum tour. Hosszu has won a couple of races through the past week so far and is likely to continue that trend in what is likely to be her final meet before the world championships. Chad Le Clos posted on Twitter that he had to withdraw from the second day of competition in Barcelona earlier this week because of illness, but no word on whether he&#039;s healthy enough to swim tomorrow in France.<\/p>\n<p>We&#039;re less than two weeks from the start of Great Britain&#039;s world championships trials, and Hannah Miley should have no problem with securing a spot on the team in the individual medley events. She is using the Scottish nationals this weekend to get some racing in, and put up a 4:41 in the 400 IM, the event in which she won the silver medal at the 2011 world championships. Also of note at the Scottish meet is Robbie Renwick, who was training for a time at the University of Florida. Renwick won the 400 free easily with a 3:49.8.<\/p>\n<p>The USA world championship trials are also less than two weeks away, and that&#039;s why we don&#039;t have many meets of major importance this weekend in the United States.
