Senior <strong>Mackenzie Rumrill<\/strong> and junior <strong>Kirsten<\/strong> <strong>Jacobsen<\/strong> each won two events in the defeat of the Cougars.<\/p>\n<p>The Cats began the meet with second and third place finishes in the 400 medley relay. <strong>Aria Bernal, Mallory Korenwinder<\/strong>, Rumrill, and <strong>Katrina<\/strong> <strong>Konopka<\/strong> placed second with 3:46.34 while the B team finished third with 3:52.56.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hannah Cox<\/strong> won her fifth straight 1,000 free to remain undefeated this season with 10:15.95. <strong>Ayumi Macias<\/strong> finished second with 10:23.62.<\/p>\n<p>Jacobsen (1:52.98) won the 200 free.<\/p>\n<p>Rumrill (2:02.67) and <strong>Mik Ranslem<\/strong> (2:05.19) finish first and second, respectively, in the 200 fly.<\/p>\n<p>The Cats swept the 50 free with <strong>Ashley Sutherland<\/strong> (23.45), <strong>Jamie Stone<\/strong> (23.85), <strong>Alayna Connor<\/strong> (24.15), and Konopka (24.39).<\/p>\n<p>Jacobsen won the 500 free with 5:02.97.<br \/>\nIn the 100 fly, Rumrill won with 55.24.<\/p>\n<h3>UCLA gets 200th win for coach<\/h3>\n<p>he UCLA swimming team topped both UC Santa Barbara and UC San Diego in a double-dual meet on Friday afternoon at Spieker Aquatics Center to deliver head coach <strong>Cyndi Gallagher<\/strong> the milestone 200th and 201st wins of her illustrious career.<\/p>\n<p>The win moved the Bruins&#8217; record to 7-0 on the year. With seven straight dual meet wins out of the gate, UCLA is off to its best start since the 2012-13 squad which reeled off 11 straight to start the year.<\/p>\n<p>Seniors <strong>Sandra Soe<\/strong> (500 free, 1000 free) and <strong>Emma Schanz<\/strong> (100 back, 200 IM) and freshman <strong>Claire Grover<\/strong> (50 free, 100 free) served as UCLA&#8217;s multi-event winners with two apiece. <strong>Sophia Cavalli<\/strong> and <strong>Emily Lo<\/strong> both earned their first event wins of the 2018-19 campaign.<\/p>\n<p>Soe broke the 10-minute mark for the first time this season in the 1000 free, completing the race in 9:52.69 and winning by a wide margin.<\/p>\n<p>Cavalli picked up her first collegiate win in the 200 free, leading the pack most of the way and holding off a late challenge from UCSB&#8217;s <strong>Emily<\/strong> <strong>Ward<\/strong> to maintain first place.<\/p>\n<p>Schanz raced a 54.37 in the 100 back to win the event for the second time this week \u2013 improving on her USD\/Harvard time by over a second \u2013 and the fourth time this season.<\/p>\n<h3>Arizona State beats Washington State<\/h3>\n<p>The Arizona State women&#8217;s swim team swept the Washington State Cougars in all but one individual event to earn a 174-85 victory in their first Pac-12 meet of 2019 on Saturday morning at the Mona Plummer Aquatic Center.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We had good energy, people were really racing well,&#8221; head coach<strong> Bob Bowman<\/strong> said. &#8220;It was nice to have <strong>Cierra Runge<\/strong> for the first time swim for us. Across the board we swam pretty well.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Sun Devils finished in order at the top of the scoreboard in 7 events \u2013 the 1000 free, 100 back 200 fly, 200 back, 500 free, 100 fly, 200 IM and 800 free relay.<\/p>\n<p>Three Sun Devils had multiple wins on the day, as <strong>Emma Nordin<\/strong> (1000 free, 200 back), <strong>Cierra Runge<\/strong> (100 back, 100 free) <strong>Chloe Isleta<\/strong> (100 back, 200 back), and <strong>Fanny Teijonsalo<\/strong> (50 free, 100 fly) each took the top spot in two events. For junior transfer Runge, her two victories came in her first two events as a Sun Devil.<\/p>\n<p>Washington State sophomore <strong>Mackenzie Duarte<\/strong> took first place in the 200 breast, edging out <strong>Marlies Ross<\/strong> from ASU by just three tenths of a second. Duarte\u2019s win the event is her sixth individual win of the season, and her fifth in the 200 breast. The Walnut Creek, Calif. native also took second in the 200 IM and 100 breast.<\/p>\n<h3>\nStanford men top Pacific<\/h3>\n<p>Stanford won all 13 events in a 151-85 dual meet win over Pacific on Friday at Avery Aquatic Center.<\/p>\n<p>Freshman diver <strong>Conor Casey<\/strong> highlighted the day with wins in both the 1-meter and 3-meter springboards. Casey won the 1-meter with a score of 358.73 before winning the 3-meter with a stellar 392.70. Casey recently competed in the USA Winter Trials in Atlanta, finishing fourth on the synchronized 3-meter, third on the 1-meter and 10th on the 3-meter.<\/p>\n<p>The Cardinal (2-0) began the morning with a win in the 200-yard medley relay. The all-senior quartet of <strong>Ryan Dudzinski, Matt Anderson, Brad Zdroik<\/strong> and <strong>Cole Cogswell<\/strong> (1:28.65) captured the win.<\/p>\n<p><strong>True Sweetser<\/strong> (9:09.13) dominated the 1,000-yard freestyle, followed by teammate <strong>Jack Levant<\/strong> (9:30.47) in second place.<strong> Will Macmillan<\/strong> (1:37.39) made it three in a row with a win in the 200-yard freestyle.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jordan Greenberg<\/strong> (20.73) was fastest in the 50-yard freestyle while <strong>James Murphy<\/strong> (20.80) followed him up in second place.<strong> Jack Walsh<\/strong> (1:50.40) won the fifth event of the meet.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hank Poppe<\/strong> (48.61) won the 100-yard butterfly. <strong>Jack Levant<\/strong> (44.70) then claimed the 100-yard freestyle.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Patrick Conaton<\/strong> (48.91) won the 100-yard backstroke.
