IT&#039;S one thing to be 16 years old and swim in the final of an in-season meet with some of history&#039;s best swimmers. It&#039;s another thing entirely when you beat them. That&#039;s what Justin Wright did on Sunday evening at the Arena Grand Prix meet in Santa Clara, California, posting a 1:57.90 and set a lifetime best by almost two seconds.<\/p>\n<p>Wright has been a part of the national junior team, placing third last year in the 200 fly at the junior Pan Pacific championships. With his 1:57.9, Wright would have placed sixth at last year&#039;s Olympic Trials, and now makes him one to watch in the 200 fly final at the world championship trials. In an interview I did with him after the race, Wright said he&#039;s looking to make the world junior team that will compete in Dubai, and no matter which world championship team he makes, we all will be watching his progress.<\/p>\n<p>Naturally, people might want to compare Justin to Michael Phelps, which is an unfair comparison, since Phelps was breaking world records at 16 years old. But Justin Wright is well on his way to making a name for himself in the 200 fly, and for that, he earns the Speedo Performance of the Week.
