JEFF Commings and Tiffany Elias recap day four&#039;s final session of the last stop in the Arena Grand Prix, out of Santa Clara, California. Ryan Lochte and Jessica Hardy both had notable swims tonight, taking advantage of their last chance to gear up for World Championships in a month.<\/p>\n<p>Commings and Elias break down the current strength of the US men in the butterfly events, especially noting the absence felt without Michael Phelps. It was exciting to watch Phelps&#039; signature race, the 200 butterfly, tonight, as 16-year-old Justin Wright pull off an outstanding upset in the event. Wright stuck to his game plan, coming from behind after the first 100 to take down veteran and Olympic gold medalist Tyler Clary. Commings commended Wright on his execution of the race, and considered it a brave swim.<\/p>\n<p>Hardy pulled off a win in the women&#039;s 100 breaststroke, breaking 1:07 for the first time this season. She doesn&#039;t know whether she&#039;ll be more successful at the end of the season in the breaststroke or the sprint freestyle, considering she&#039;s seen good results from both strokes this season. <\/p>\n<p>Race day also covers the 200 IM on the men&#039;s and women&#039;s side, noting that both Lochte and Caitlin Leverenz had great winning swims. Commings considered the women&#039;s race an exciting back and forth battle, with Leverenz eventually surging ahead on the breaststroke. However, Commings thought that Lochte would be much faster in the 200 IM on the men&#039;s side, but felt that Lochte still had a great race and very successful meet.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SANTA CLARA, California, June 2.
