COLLEGE STATION, Texas —<\/strong> The No. 8 Texas \nA&M women\u2019s swimming and diving team swept all 14 races on its way \nto a 161-90 win over old Southwest Conference rival SMU on Saturday \nafternoon at the<\/p>

Student Recreation Natatorium.<\/p>

The Aggies, who swept at least the top three spots \nin nine races, improved to 5-1 in dual meet action. The one- and \nthree-meter springboards were not contested.\n<\/p>

\u201cIt\u2019s good to back into it and race,\u201d Texas A&M head coach Steve Bultman said. \u201cWe\u2019ve had a layoff from competition between Christmas and the New Year, so this was a good day of racing. We saw the things that we need to work on and we can definitely benefit from that as we gear up for the long course invites next week, and LSU following after that.\u201d <\/p>

The Aggies opened and closed the meet with relay \nvictories. The foursome of senior Sydney Pickrem, senior Monika \nGonzalez-Hermosillo, sophomore Jing Quah and sophomore Haley Yelle \ncombined to win the 400-yard medley relay in 3:43.50, while\n junior Raena Eldridge, freshman Amanda Armstrong, junior Sara Metzsch \nand sophomore Audrey McMurry won the 200 freestyle relay in 1:34.69.\n<\/p>

Leading the way individually for the Aggies were \nYelle and Pickrem, who both tallied a pair of race victories. Yelle was \nvictorious in the 200 freestyle (1:48.88) and the 500 freestyle \n(4:53.25, while Pickrem posted wins in the 200 breaststroke\n (2:14.14) and the 200 IM (2:00.21). <\/p>

Logging solo victories were senior Tiffany Futscher\n in the 1,000 free (10:04.63), Gonzalez-Hermosillo in the 100 backstroke\n (56.12), junior Anna Belousova in the 100 breast (1:02.06), sophomore \nTaylor Pike in the 200 butterfly (2:01.01),\n senior Claire Rasmus in the 50 free (23.55), senior McKenna DeBever in \nthe 100 free (51.49), junior Sara Metzsch in the 200 backstroke \n(2:00.17) and Quah in the 100 butterfly (54.83).<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
