Lochte managed to pick up the men's 100-meter freestyle victory in 50.97 as he continued to put together strong outings at this meet. He'd come into this evening with a trio of titles, and his sprinting prowess clinched him a fourth gold medal — that he likely tossed to a fan in the stands. Joel Greenshields finished second in 51.37, while Tommy Gossland wound up third in 51.46. <\/p>\n
Lochte then finished his night like he did last evening, taking a close second-place backstroke finish. He wound up trailing Russell Wood into the wall in the men's 100-meter back, 56.14 to 56.22. Gleb Suvurov, who delivered Lochte the 50-meter back silver last night, placed third in 56.43. <\/p>\n
Savannah King triumphed in the women's 800-meter freestyle with a time of 8:39.30, while Brittany MacLean placed well behind with a second-place effort of 8:41.17. Emily Brunemann rounded out the top three in an 8:41.71, just behind MacLean's performance. <\/p>\n
Tianna Rissling clipped training partner Fiona Doyle, 32.09 to 32.25, in the women's 50-meter breast, while Tera Van Beilen wound up third in 32.36. Andrew Poznikoff followed with a 29.04 to win the men's 50-meter breast. Jason Block (29.17) and Sergey Holson (29.57) finished second and third in the sprint breaststroke event. <\/p>\n
Noemie Thomas, who has had herself a strong meet this weekend, squashed the competition in the women's 200-meter fly with a 2:12.82. That time was nearly five seconds faster than the rest of the field. Haley Black touched a distant second in 2:17.12, while Emily Overholt wound up third in 2:17.16. In a much-closer content, Stefan Milosevic nipped Jon McKay at the wall in the men's 200-meter fly, 2:05.40 to 2:05.72. Thomas Jobin finished third in 2:07.27. <\/p>\n
Natalie Hinds prevailed in the women's 100-meter freestyle event with a time of 55.50, while backstroke specialist Sinead Russell demonstrated some sprinter speed with a second-place time of 56.61. Ashley Sutherland of KING finished third overall in a time of 57.02, just edging Heather MacLean (57.03) for the final podium spot. <\/p>\n
Russell completed a sprinter's double with a 1:01.24 to win the women's 100-meter backstroke after turning in a 1:01.13 during prelims this morning. KING's Hannah Weiss finished second in 1:02.17, while Ellese Zalewski pocketed third-place honors with a 1:03.16.<\/p>\n
