AT 8 a.m. Eastern time tomorrow, the U.S. Masters Swimming short course nationals begins in Indianapolis. More than 1,600 people will race at the IU Natatorium, including a few Olympians. Dave Wharton, the silver medalist in the 400 IM at the 1988 Olympics, will be there, as will 1976 200 breast Olympic bronze medalist Rick Colella. We&#039;ll see a lot of Masters national records fall during the four-day meet, likely from perennial record break Laura Val in the 60-64 age group and Jim McConica in the 65-69 age group. The meet will be streamed live on usms.org, so go there to watch some of the best in Masters swimming.<\/p>\n<p>Also starting tomorrow morning is the AT&#038;T USA Diving Grand Prix in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This will be the first competition for most of the American Olympians who won medals in London, including David Boudia, who won the platform event last year, and Troy Dumais, who won bronze in the men&#039;s springboard synchro event. This meet will be the last opportunity for the Americans to fine tune their dives before the world championship selection meet, which starts next Wednesday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PHOENIX, Arizona, May 8.
