YVETTE Baker might have made history at London 2012 but the Sutton Coldfield synchronized swimmer insists she is not prepared to leave it there as she ramps up her training once more.<\/p>\n<p>The 21-year-old was part of the first-ever full Great Britain synchronised swimming team to compete at an Olympics when she took to the London Aquatics Centre water last summer.<\/p>\n<p>And the nine-strong team went on to finish a credible sixth on their Olympic bow, showing yet more improvement with the squad having finished ninth at the previous year&#039;s World Championships.<\/p>\n<p>In 2009 Great Britain were tenth at the World Championships and former City of Birmingham Swimming Club member Baker is only looking upwards and not over her shoulder as she bids to help the team contend for medals at July&#039;s global gathering in Barcelona.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Olympics was amazing and it was fantastic to be a part of the first British team to compete at a Games,&#8221; she said. &#8220;If anything it was not the end of the journey but sort of a new beginning and it has opened our eyes a bit to it all and everyone is hungry for more.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;From having the Olympics our media coverage has increased and a lot more people know who we are, what we do, how much we train and what synchronized swimming is. So I think that has helped us a lot but we want to keep increasing and we want to keep improving.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are looking to climb up the world rankings even more. We have been improving at a really high rate in the synchro world so that is really good for us. But we want to keep going with that and not rest and be in the chance of the medals.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The National Lottery Anniversary Run will take place on Sunday July 21.
