The team of\u00a0<strong>Kliment Kolesnikov<\/strong> (22.87),\u00a0<strong>Oleg Kostin\u00a0<\/strong>(25.36),\u00a0<strong>Mikhail Vekovishchev<\/strong> (22.09), and\u00a0<strong>Evgeny Rylov\u00a0<\/strong>(20.22) posted a time of 1:30.54 to grab the win.<\/p>\n<p>That just beat out the American team of\u00a0<strong>Ryan Murphy\u00a0<\/strong>(22.73),\u00a0<strong>Michael Andrew\u00a0<\/strong>(26.16),\u00a0<strong>Caeleb Dressel\u00a0<\/strong>(21.70), and\u00a0<strong>Ryan Held\u00a0<\/strong>(20.31). Murphy had the Americans in first after the backstroke, but the U.S. team fell back to fourth after Andrew&#8217;s breaststroke leg and couldn&#8217;t recover their lead over the final 100. Their time does establish a new American record in the event. In third was Brazil in 1:31.49.<\/p>\n<p>Notably, last night&#8217;s 50 free World Champion\u00a0<strong>Vlad Morozov\u00a0<\/strong>was absent from the relay. The only doubt of Hosszu dominance in the event came over the backstroke leg, when\u00a0<strong>Kathleen Baker\u00a0<\/strong>dropped a 30.77 split to rocket to first place while Hosszu fell back to third.<\/p>\n<p>The Hungarian Olympic gold medalist made it all up on the breaststroke leg, however, distancing herself further over the final 50 to grab the win. That is just a tenth off of his own South African record from the 2017 FINA World Cup. Just behind him was last night&#8217;s 50 free champion\u00a0Vlad Morozov in 45.93.<\/p>\n<p>Morozov flirted with\u00a0<strong>Amaury Leveaux&#8217;s\u00a0<\/strong>world record in this event earlier this year, dropping a 44.95 that was .01 off his record and that currently stands as the fastest time in the world this year.<\/p>\n<p>Behind Morozov was Caeleb Dressel in 46.09, setting up what should be an exciting final tomorrow between the top 3. Morozov&#8217;s teammate\u00a0<strong>Vladislav Grinev\u00a0<\/strong>(46.23) also qualified for the final in fourth, while Dressel&#8217;s teammate and 200 free World Champ\u00a0<strong>Blake Pieroni\u00a0<\/strong>qualified sixth in 46.31. That is just off her own American record of 54.84 from earlier this year that is also the fastest time in the world this year.<\/p>\n<p>More than a second back qualifying second is Italy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Elena di Liddo\u00a0<\/strong>in 56.06, which broke <strong>Ilaria Bianchi&#8217;s\u00a0<\/strong>2012 Italian record in the event. Bianchi herself qualified for the final tomorrow night in seventh (56.79).<\/p>\n<p>In third was\u00a0<strong>Ai Soma\u00a0<\/strong>(56.31) from Japan, followed by Brazil&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Daiene Dias\u00a0<\/strong>(56.40).
