He was a full two tenths ahead of\u00a0American\u00a0Caeleb Dressel,<\/strong> who had just swum the 50 free,\u00a0in 48.71. That was a new lifetime best for Dressel, bringing him within sight of\u00a0Tom Shields<\/strong>‘ American record of 48.63.<\/p>\n Le Clos has now won four straight World Short Course title in the 100 fly, winning in 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2018.<\/p>\n The two were well ahead of the field. China’s\u00a0Li\u00a0Zhuhao\u00a0<\/strong>earned the bronze in a new Asian Record of 49.25.<\/p>\n France’s\u00a0Mehdy Metella\u00a0<\/strong>and Germany’s\u00a0Marius Jusch\u00a0<\/strong>were fourth and fifth.
