The final night of the 2018 Speedo Winter Junior Nationals East Championships featured the finals of the 1650 free, 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly and 400 free relays. The final session of the meet saw many fast swims, including the downing of two NAG records by\u00a0Regan Smith<\/strong> and\u00a0Gianluca Urlando<\/strong> in the 200 fly.<\/p>\n

The Crown Canyon Country Club Sharks took home the women’s team title with a total of 286 points, while the Sierra Marlins Swim Team collected the men’s title with 256 points. The combined team score, however, was won by the Irvine Novaquatics with a total of 404 points.<\/p>\n

Women’s 1650 Free<\/h3>\n

Magnolia Aquatics’\u00a0Kaitlynn Sims<\/strong> claimed victory in the women’s 1650 free, stopping the clock at a time of 15:57.34. Sims was followed to the wall by Scottsdale Aquatics’\u00a0Ashley Strouse<\/strong> and her time of 16:01.20.<\/p>\n

Sarah Dimeco<\/strong> of Bellevue Club delivered a 16:09.74 to finish third overall.<\/p>\n

Women\u2019s 200 Back<\/h3>\n
The women’s 200 back showcased a teenage backstroke showdown as Missoula’s\u00a0Katharine Berkoff<\/strong> and Aquajets’\u00a0Isabelle Stadden<\/strong> battled for the title. Berkoff pulled ahead on the third 50 and succeeded in holding off Stadden in the back half of the race. The two finished with times of 1:50.16 and 1:50.37, with both swimmers touching beneath the 2013 meet record of 1:50.59.<\/p>\n
Alexandra Crisera<\/strong> of Beach Cities Swim Team touched third with a time of 1:54.84.<\/p>\n

Not long after claiming gold in the women’s 200 back,\u00a0Katharine Berkoff<\/strong> was back in the pool and collecting another winning title. Berkoff sprinted to a final time of 49.21 to take home the women’s 100 free title.<\/p>\n
