The old meet record was a 3:43.64 by\u00a0<strong>Kieran Smith\u00a0<\/strong>from last year, and Foster dropped that down to a whole new level.<\/p>\n<p>Foster moved up to fourth all-time in the 17-18 age group in the 400 IM, sitting only behind\u00a0<strong>Andrew Seliskar<\/strong>, <strong>Chase Kalisz<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Gunnar Bentz<\/strong>. Foster moved ahead of 2012 Olympic gold medalist\u00a0<strong>Ryan Lochte\u00a0<\/strong>on the all-time list. Foster&#8217;s time would also be second in the nation in Division I this season, and he is only a junior in high school.<\/p>\n<p>Foster finished first ahead of his brother <strong>Jake Foster<\/strong>, who tied the old meet record with a 3:43.64. Foster also moved up to tied for 12th in the 17-18 all-time rankings with\u00a0<strong>Curtis Ogren<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Those two were well in front of the rest of the field as\u00a0<strong>Owen Conley\u00a0<\/strong>finished in third at 3:46.25.
