RACING in Mesa is a joy for hometown girl Breeja Larson, who won both the 100 and 200 breaststroke at the Mesa Arena Grand Prix. She talks to Swimming World TV about the 200 breaststroke, including the pain that comes with racing and training for the event. <\/p>\n<p>100 breaststroke recap: Breeja Larson, with huge support from her fans, blazed her way to a winning time of 1:07.32 in the women&#039;s 100-meter breaststroke. That swim jumped her to the top three in the world with Rikke Pedersen (1:06.40) and Ruta Meilutyte (1:06.75) ahead of her this year. The time might have been a bit faster with someone pushing her, but Jessica Hardy scratched to make a flight back home.<\/p>\n<p>200 breaststroke recap: Breeja Larson, who trained with meet host Mesa Aquatics Club prior to bursting onto the world-class scene at Texas A&#038;M, turned on the afterburners down the stretch to overcome fellow Arizona native Caitlin Leverenz for the win. Larson won in 2:28.03 after posting a 1:12.60 at the 100-meter mark.
