It was a very <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/2018-speedo-winter-juniors-east-two-more-nag-records-fall-on-second-night-of-finals\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fast Thursday night<\/a> with meet records falling left and right to the likes of\u00a0<strong>Alex Walsh\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Carson Foster<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The top seeds after Friday&#8217;s preliminary session were <strong>Grace Sheble<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Jake Foster<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Isabel Ivey<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Noah Henderson<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Maxine Parker<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Alex Walsh\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Carson Foster<\/strong>. Jake Foster and Walsh are top seeds in two events as those two, plus Carson Foster have a chance to take down some meet records and chase some NAG records.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/vmrw8k5h.tinifycdn.com\/results\/pdf\/2018-speedo-winter-junior-nationals-east-friday-prelim-heat-sheets-day-3-usa-age-group-2018-12-07.pdf\">Heat Sheet<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.swmeets.com\/Realtime\/SC%20Juniors\/2018\/\">Live Results<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usaswimming.org\/\">Live Stream<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 400 IM<\/h3>\n<p>15-year-old\u00a0<strong>Grace Sheble\u00a0<\/strong>of Nova of Virginia posted the top time in the 400 IM heats on Friday morning at the Speedo Winter Junior Nationals East Championships. She swam a 4:08.23, just a little off her best time of 4:07.74 that she came in seeded with. She used a strong second half to pull away from the rest of the field as she was the only one under 4:10 in the heats.<\/p>\n<p>Michigan Lakeshore&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kathryn Ackerman\u00a0<\/strong>is the second seed with a 4:10.59 while Asphalt Green&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Isabel Gormley\u00a0<\/strong>is the third seed at 4:11.34. He swam a 3:44.69 which is a new best time for Foster, who committed to swim for Texas next year. Foster was less than a second off of the 3:43.64 meet record set by\u00a0<strong>Kieran Smith\u00a0<\/strong>last year.<\/p>\n<p>That meet record will probably come down to Jake and his younger brother\u00a0<strong>Carson Foster<\/strong>, who did not take a hard stroke over the second 200 in his heat swim. Carson is the second seed at 3:47.16 as the winner tonight could be coming home with a new meet record. The time was a best for Ivey as she was a 52.61 at Winter Juniors two years ago. The senior is headed to Cal next year.<\/p>\n<p>Ivey is just ahead of\u00a0<strong>Kate Douglass\u00a0<\/strong>(52.29) of Chelsea Piers and\u00a0<strong>Gretchen Walsh\u00a0<\/strong>(52.77) of Nashville. Douglass moved up to tied for 31st all-time in the 17-18 NAG rankings with former NCAA champion\u00a0<strong>Olivia Scott\u00a0<\/strong>from 2011. Ivey moved up to 30th all-time.<\/p>\n<p>15-year-old\u00a0<strong>Gretchen Walsh\u00a0<\/strong>also lowered her best time as she moved up to 21st all-time in the 15-16 NAG rankings, sitting in a tie with\u00a0<strong>Jasmine Tosky\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Danielle Nack<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Behind the top three is a long list of 53&#8217;s led by\u00a0<strong>Talia Bates\u00a0<\/strong>of Gator Swim Club (53.18) and\u00a0<strong>Gabi Albiero\u00a0<\/strong>(53.21) of Cardinal Aquatics. Albiero came into the meet with the top seed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tristen Ulett\u00a0<\/strong>(53.34),\u00a0<strong>Claire Curzan\u00a0<\/strong>(53.37) and\u00a0<strong>Christiana Regenauer\u00a0<\/strong>(53.71) also posted top eight times.<\/p>\n<p>Curzan is currently fourth all-time in the 13-14 NAG rankings as she is chasing the 51.73 by\u00a0<strong>Regan Smith\u00a0<\/strong>from the 2016 Winter Juniors. He is the top seed ahead of\u00a0<strong>Cason Wilburn\u00a0<\/strong>(47.62) and\u00a0<strong>Jean-Pierre Khouzam\u00a0<\/strong>(47.66). Parker is the top seed for tonight&#8217;s 200 free with a 1:46.38, moving up to 63rd all-time in the 15-16 NAG rankings.<\/p>\n<p>Parker is ahead of a talented field with the likes of <strong>Isabel Ivey\u00a0<\/strong>(1:46.68),\u00a0<strong>Cora Dupre\u00a0<\/strong>(1:46.86) and\u00a0<strong>Kelly Pash\u00a0<\/strong>(1:46.97) all breaking 1:47 in the heats.<\/p>\n<p>14-year-old <strong>Natalie Mannion\u00a0<\/strong>turned some heads with a 1:47.26, lowering her best time of 1:47.91 from last week. Walker posted a 1:35.86 to lead the qualifiers as he was the only swimmer to break 1:36, and one of just two people to break 1:37. The other to break 1:37 was <strong>Jack Wright\u00a0<\/strong>of Allegheny, who is the second seed at 1:36.92.<\/p>\n<p>Behind Walker, the rest of the field is separated by four tenths of a second as it will be a great race for second tonight. Perhaps that tight race will fuel the field to chase down Walker, who looks like he has more in the tank for finals.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hugh Svendsen<\/strong>, Walker&#8217;s SwimMAC teammate, is the third seed at 1:37.04, while 500 champ\u00a0<strong>Jake Magahey\u00a0<\/strong>of Swim Atlanta is the fourth seed at 1:37.19. 50 free champ\u00a0<strong>Adam Chaney\u00a0<\/strong>also qualified for the final, placing in a tie for fifth at 1:37.22. She was the only one to break a minute this morning as it should be her against the clock in the final. Walsh holds the meet record at 58.19 from last year. If she gets close to that, she will challenge the NAG record in the 100 breast for 17-18, which is a 58.10 currently held by\u00a0<strong>Miranda Tucker\u00a0<\/strong>from 2016.
