The Lords and Ladies of Kenyon College won the 2018 Total Performance Invite, held in their home pool, this weekend.<\/p>\n

Women<\/h3>\n

Crile Hart\u00a0<\/strong>continued to tally up collegiate victories. The Kenyon sophomore won the 200 IM (1:58.63), 100 fly (54.73), 100 back (55.20), and 200 back (1:57.35) this weekend. She also swam on the Ladies’ winning 200 and 400 medley and 400 and 800 freestyle relays. She was pushed almost as much as Division III competition is capable of. In the 200 IM NYU’s junior\u00a0Honore Collins\u00a0<\/strong>was second in 2:00.99, just .02 shy of her freshman year NCAA title winning time.\u00a0In the 100 back NYU’s senior\u00a0May Li\u00a0<\/strong>was just on Hart’s tail with a 55.62. She actually led at the halfway mark.<\/p>\n

Collins won the 400 IM in 4:23.30, a lifetime best by a significant margin. In the 200 fly Collins was first to the wall in 2:02.86, another huge drop.<\/p>\n

The Kenyon Ladies’ ever-deep freestyle group was firing on all cylinders this weekend.\u00a0Kendall Vanderhoof\u00a0<\/strong>won the 500 freestyle (4:54.52) ahed of teammate\u00a0Hannah Orbach-Mandel\u00a0<\/strong>(4:55.12). Senior\u00a0Abby Wilson\u00a0<\/strong>led that duo in the 200 freestyle, as the three finished in 1:49.26, 1:50.66, and 1:50.87, respectively. That trio added Hart to the mix for a 7:25.31 in the 800 freestyle relay.<\/p>\n

Wilson won the 100 freestyle in 50.43 ahead of Orbach-Mandel (51.04) and sophomore\u00a0Celina German\u00a0<\/strong>(51.61). Wilson (23.31) led a one through six (24.22) finish in the 50 freestyle. Only .01 behind her was sophomore\u00a0Emmie Mirus\u00a0<\/strong>(23.32). The freestyle relay options for this team seem endless.<\/p>\n

After finishing behind groups of Kenyon swimmers in the 500 and the 200 freestyles, NYU freshman\u00a0Rachel Reistroffer\u00a0<\/strong>picked up a victory in the 1650, touching in 16:56.76. She led a one through five (17:12.01) finish for the Violets. The entire quintet was under last year’s NCAA invited time in the event.<\/p>\n

Men<\/h3>\n

Kenyon showcased their depth this weekend, with some especially astounding relay depth. The team’s A 400 medley relay (Ben Baturka<\/strong>,\u00a0Luis Weekes<\/strong>,\u00a0David Fitch<\/strong>, and\u00a0Cole McMahon-Gioeli<\/strong>) touched in 3:16.83, less than a second ahead of their B squad in 3:17.46. They had three teams clear the NCAA B cut in the 200 medley, touching in 1:29.70, 1:29.98, and 1:30.74.<\/p>\n

The A and B 800 freestyle relays touched nearly in synch, in times of 6:41.61 and 6:41.87. Three members of the B relay outsplit swimmers on the A.<\/p>\n

Junior\u00a0Connor Rumpit\u00a0<\/strong>led three of his teammates under 4:30 in the 500, as he touched in 4:27.42. Rumpit also won the mile in a lifetime best 15:34.43. Carnegie Mellon freshman\u00a0Richie Dauksher\u00a0<\/strong>swam with Rumpit through the 1300 before Rumpit pulled away.<\/p>\n

The Lords were one through four in the 200 IM, led by\u00a0Weekes (1:47.89) and\u00a0Michael Bartholomew\u00a0<\/strong>(1:49.59). Weekes also topped the 100 breaststroke (55.90).<\/p>\n

Kenyon sophomore Fitch won the 50 free in 20.30 and the 100 fly in 47.74. He was runner up in the 100 free (44.96) to teammate\u00a0Tommy Weiss\u00a0<\/strong>(44.73).<\/p>\n

Sophomore\u00a0Grant Thompson\u00a0<\/strong>was first to the wall in the 400 IM in 3:55.62. He edged teammate and last year All-American\u00a0Colin Reardon\u00a0<\/strong>who finished in 3:55.89, three seconds faster than he went in finals at NCAAs last year.<\/p>\n

Bartholomew, who finished fourth in the 200 back at NCAAs last year won the event this weekend in 1:46.70, faster than he went in March. In an impressive showing of versatility, he also won the 200 breaststroke in 2:00.25, just ahead of teammates Weekes (2:00.90) and\u00a0Kieran Allsop\u00a0<\/strong>(2:01.75).<\/p>\n
