Ledecky&#8217;s time was the 22nd fastest all-time in the event, as she still holds 24 of the 25 fastest times all-time in the event.<\/p>\n<p>The only other swimmer on the top 25 performance list is 2018 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/celebrate-induction-of-rebecca-adlington-into-international-swimming-hall-of-fame\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ISHOF honoree<\/a>\u00a0<strong>Rebecca Adlington\u00a0<\/strong>(8:14.10) of Great Britain from the 2008 Olympics. Adlington sits 22nd all-time in the performance ranks with her swim. Ledecky has the fastest 21 times all-time.<\/p>\n<p>Ledecky won easily tonight at the US Winter Nationals over\u00a029-year-old Open Water swimmer\u00a0<strong>Ashley Twichell\u00a0<\/strong>(8:28.16) and 18-year-old USC <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/open-water-junior-national-champ-erica-sullivan-verbally-commits-to-usc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">freshman-to-be<\/a>\u00a0<strong>Erica Sullivan\u00a0<\/strong>(8:29.02).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kaersten Meitz\u00a0<\/strong>(8:37.11),\u00a0<strong>Chase Travis\u00a0<\/strong>(8:38.84),\u00a0<strong>Emma Weyant\u00a0<\/strong>(8:41.30) and\u00a0<strong>Julia Hassler\u00a0<\/strong>(8:45.04)\u00a0also swam in the fastest seeded heat.\u00a0<strong>Paige McKenna\u00a0<\/strong>also got under the Olympic Trial cut with her 8:46.76 from heat two.<\/p>\n<p>The top six swimmers all punched their tickets to the 2020 Olympic Trials. He won in Ledecky-esque fashion with a 7:56.88, thirteen full seconds ahead of\u00a0<strong>Brennan Gravley\u00a0<\/strong>(8:09.95). Gravley is headed to swim at the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/18u-open-water-national-champ-brennan-gravley-commits-to-florida\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">University of Florida<\/a>\u00a0next season, joining a strong young distance squad currently led by freshman\u00a0<strong>Robert Finke<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The men&#8217;s 800 free is going to make its debut to the Olympic program in Tokyo, so this is the first time that men will be able to qualify for Olympic Trials in the 800 free. Wilimovsky won the silver medal at Pan Pacs in that event this summer, and was fourth in the &#8220;Virtual World Championships.&#8221; He and\u00a0<strong>Zane Grothe\u00a0<\/strong>are the best chances at a medal in the 800 at the Olympics and World Championships the next two years.<\/p>\n<p>Gravley finished second ahead of\u00a0<strong>Ross Dant\u00a0<\/strong>(8:10.99) and\u00a0<strong>Lleyton Plattel\u00a0<\/strong>(8:12.02) as all four of those swimmers qualified for the Olympic Trials with their swims.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dare Rose<\/strong> (8:12.36),\u00a0<strong>Calvin David\u00a0<\/strong>(8:12.56) and\u00a0<strong>Gordon Mason\u00a0<\/strong>(8:12.87) also picked up their Olympic Trial cuts in heat two, while\u00a0<strong>Ryan Vipavetz\u00a0<\/strong>(8:14.41) moved in to eighth place with his swim from heat two.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\"
