STANFORD&#039;s Kristian Ipsen defended his three-meter diving title with a come-from-behind victory at the NCAA Division I Men&#039;s Championships.<\/p>\n<p>With Duke&#039;s Nick McCrory in command heading into the final dive, Ipsen threw down an 85-point dive compared to McCrory&#039;s 39.60-point dive to finish with a victorious 450.60-point tally.  That defended his title from last year, and gave Stanford its first two-time champion in the event.  Ipsen added his win to his one-meter triumph from last night to join fellow Cardinal David Nolan as the only individual doublists thus far.<\/p>\n<p>McCrory, who has a pair of platform titles on his resume, was in position to win his first springboard event but fell to second with 440.40 points.  Indiana&#039;s Darian Schmidt rounded out the top three with 425.50 points.<\/p>\n<p>Kentucky&#039;s Greg Ferrucci (423.15), Arizona State&#039;s Harrison Jones (402.75), Virginia Tech&#039;s Ryan Hawkins (397.70), Ohio State&#039;s Shane Miszkiel (394.45), and Missouri&#039;s David Bonuchi (394.05) also dove in the finale.<\/p>\n<p>Michigan (302), California (271.5), Arizona (208.5), Southern California (180) and Auburn (167.5) rounded out the top five in the team-title race heading into the 800-yard free relay.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Editorial coverage sponsored by SpeedoUSA INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana, March 29.
