THE four winners of individual events on the first night of competition at the 2013 men&#039;s NCAA Division I swimming and diving championships visited with the media on Thursday night to talk about the ingredients needed for them to stand at the top of the podium at the IU Natatorium.<\/p>\n<p>SwimmingWorld.TV is happy to bring you video interviews with all four champions, and we&#039;ll start with history-maker Vlad Morozov of the University of Southern California. Morozov told media he was surprised by going under 18 seconds in the 50 freestyle as part of the 200 free relay, and what he&#039;s been working on this season to swim so fast.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"470\" height=\"264\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/lby2KYQLAG4\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>After falling short of expectations last year, Stanford sophomore David Nolan finally broke through at the collegiate championships with a win in the 200 individual medley, and he says winning the event required a strategy change from last year, as well as a mental adjustment to approaching the championship final.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"470\" height=\"264\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/m1ckMqB7XYw\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Connor Jaeger won the 500 freestyle, the meet&#039;s first individual event, and he talks about what it means to set the tone for Michigan early in the meet. He also discusses his race strategy, and the risky move of letting the field go out hard in the first 100 yards while he held back.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"470\" height=\"264\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/kwiOE4v0mXQ\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Kristian Ipsen won the 1-meter diving event for Stanford, and the sophomore talks about competing against good friend and fellow Olympian Nick McCrory in the event, as well as how it sets him up for his better event on the 3-meter springboard.
