I: Texas Men&#8217;s And Women&#8217;s Swimming and Diving Teams Stand In First  After Six Events Against Arizona and Arizona State"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>TUCSON, Ariz.- The University of Texas No. 2 women&#39;s and No. 3 men&#39;s<br \/>\n swimming and diving teams both stand in first place following day one<br \/>\n of triangular meet competition against Arizona and Arizona State,<br \/>\n respectively, at the Hillenbrand Aquatic Center in Tucson, Ariz.  The<br \/>\n Texas women lead No. 3 Arizona (66-44) and No. 7 Arizona State<br \/>\n (87-23), while the Longhorn men are ahead of No. 9 Arizona (52-39)<br \/>\n and No. 5 Arizona State (68-42). <\/p>\n<p> The Longhorn women won all six events of the day, with junior<br \/>\n Joscelyn Yeo (Republic of Singapore) leading the way with two<br \/>\n individual wins and teaming on a relay victory.  Yeo grabbed<br \/>\n individual top honors in the 200 IM (2:02.00) and the 50 freestyle<br \/>\n (23.19). <\/p>\n<p> The team of freshman Sarah Wanazek (Brookfield, Wis.), junior Tanica<br \/>\n Jamison (Dublin, Calif.), senior Lauren Martin (Houston, Texas) and<br \/>\n junior Erin Phenix (Cincinnati, Ohio) got UT on the board early in<br \/>\n the first event of the day by winning the 200 free relay (1:33.49).<br \/>\n Senior Lauren Thies (Bend, Ore.) followed by timing first in the 500<br \/>\n free (4:52.96).  The Horns wrapped up swimming competition for the<br \/>\n day by gathering yet another top finish, with senior Bethany Lindberg<br \/>\n (Woodbridge, Va.), Yeo, Jamison and Phenix winning the 400 medley<br \/>\n relay in 3:47.51. <\/p>\n<p> In diving, sophomore Ally Hartzell (Austin, Texas) added to the UT<br \/>\n lead by giving a top performance on the one-meter springboard with a<br \/>\n score of 272.50. <\/p>\n<p> The UT men were led by senior Tommy Hannan (Baltimore, Md.) and Chris<br \/>\n Kemp (Southlake, Texas), both who picked up individual event<br \/>\n victories.  Kemp took charge for the Horns during the second event of<br \/>\n the day, placing winning the 500-yard freestyle in 4:29.48.  Hannan<br \/>\n captured top honors in the 200 IM, timing an NCAA &quot;B&quot; consideration<br \/>\n time of 1:49.96.  Texas continued to roll in the 400 medley relay,<br \/>\n with the quartet of Hannan, sophomore Brendan Hansen (Havertown,<br \/>\n Pa.), Ian Crocker (Portland, Maine) and Kemp taking first in an NCAA<br \/>\n &quot;B&quot; cut time of 3:16.62.   <\/p>\n<p> Senior Troy Dumais (Ventura, Calif.) continued his dominance on the<br \/>\n springboard, capturing first on the three-meter with a score of<br \/>\n 637.15.  The win improves Dumais&#39; record on the three-meter board to<br \/>\n a perfect 6-0 this season.  <\/p>\n<p> Men&#39;s and women&#39;s action between Texas, Arizona and Arizona State<br \/>\n continue on Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Hillenbrand Aquatic Center in<br \/>\n Tucson.
