The SEC honored its swimmers and divers of the week on Tuesday:<\/p>\n
Men\u2019s Co-Swimmers of the Week: Robert Howard, Alabama and Nick Alexander, Missouri<\/strong><\/p>\n Alabama\u2019s Robert Howard<\/strong> won both the 50 and 100 freestyles at the Georgia Tech Invitational this past weekend. His winning time in the 100 freestyle, a 41.94, makes him the first swimmer in the country under 42 seconds this season. Howard also recorded NCAA B-cut times in the 50 free (19.23) and the 200 free (1:33.60).<\/p>\n Missouri\u2019s Nick Alexander<\/strong> won three events with NCAA B-cut times at last week\u2019s Mizzou Invite. He posted the nation\u2019s fastest time in the 200 back (1:39.98) for the win and marked the first time he ever went under 1:40 in the event. Alexander also claimed top honors in both the 100 back (45.93) and 200 IM (1:43.04). His 200 IM time ranks third in the country and was only three-hundredths off the Tiger record, while his 100 back time broke the Mizzou record and ranks him seventh nationally.<\/p>\n Men\u2019s Diver of the Week: Zhipeng (Colin) Zeng, Tennessee<\/strong><\/p>\n Tennessee\u2019s Zhipeng (Colin) Zeng<\/strong> won both springboard events against No. 5 and Auburn on Nov. 9 with scores of 382.60 in the 1-meter and 413.45 in the 3-meter. At the Texas Invite, he took the gold in the 1-meter with a final score of 413.55, and placed second in the platform with a score of 466.95, marking the fourth time in his Tennessee career to score above 460.<\/p>\n Men\u2019s Freshman of the Week: Shaine Casas, Texas A&M<\/strong><\/p>\n Texas A&M\u2019s Shaine Casas<\/strong> won two individual races and was a part of three winning relays as the No. 13 Aggies won the Art Adamson Invitational. He posted NCAA B-cut times in the 100 back (45.99 – eighth nationally) and the 200 back (1:40.04 – second nationally). Casas was also a part of the winning 200 free relay, 800 free relay and 200 medley relay.<\/p>\n Women\u2019s Co-Swimmers of the Week: Anna Hopkin, Arkansas and Sydney Pickrem, Texas A&M<\/strong><\/p>\n Arkansas\u2019 Anna Hopkin<\/strong> won two individual events with NCAA A-cut times at the Mizzou Invite. She swam the fastest time in the nation in the 50 free at 21.64. Hopkin also posted the second fastest time in the nation in the 100 free with her time of 47.05. She recorded NCAA B-cut times in the 100 fly (53.27) and the 200 free (1:46.62), and was a part of the winning 400 free relay and 800 free relay.<\/p>\n Texas A&M\u2019s Sydney Pickrem<\/strong> won five individual races with three NCAA A-cuts and two B-cuts and was a part of four winning relays as the No. 11 Aggies won the Art Adamson Invitational. She posted the second-best times nationally in the 200 IM (1:53.88), 200 breaststroke (2:06.13) and 400 IM (4:01.73). Pickrem also touched the wall first in the 100 breaststroke (59.30 – sixth nationally) and 200 back (1:53.26 – 12th nationally) and was a member of the winning 200 free relay, 400 free relay, 800 free relay and 400 medley relay.<\/p>\n Women\u2019s Diver of the Week: Kyndal Knight, Kentucky<\/strong><\/p>\n Kentucky\u2019s Kyndal Knight took first place in the 3-meter springboard at the Ohio State Invitational, posting a final score of 326.35. She also finished fourth in the 1-meter (369.70) and the platform (287.74).<\/p>\n Women\u2019s Freshman of the Week: Vanessa Pearl, Florida<\/strong><\/p>\n Florida\u2019s Vanessa Pearl won three individual events with NCAA B-cut times at the No. 10 Gators finished first at the Georgia Tech Invitational. She touched the wall first in the 400 IM with a time of 4:05.07, the fourth fastest time in the nation. Pearl also registered the fifth fastest times nationally in the 200 IM (1:55.25) and the 200 breaststroke (2:08.04). She was the second leg of the first-place 200 medley relay that posted the fifth-best time in the NCAA with a 1:37.26.
