This is Greenwich&#8217;s fourth-straight team title.<\/p>\n<p>Click <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/results\/2018-connecticut-girls-final-results\/high-school\/2018\/November\/17?rtn=%2Fresults%2Fhigh-school%3Fpage%3D1%26orderBy%3DResult.MeetStartDateTime%26sortDirection%3D1%26q%3D\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a> for full results.<\/p>\n<h2>Top 5 Team Scores:<\/h2>\n<p>1. Greenwich &#8211; 454<br \/>\n2. Cheshire &#8211; 439<br \/>\n3. Weston &#8211; 417<br \/>\n4. Ridgefield &#8211; 385<br \/>\n5. Staples &#8211; 301<\/p>\n<p>The meet began as Weston\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Alexa Pappas<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Isabella Gary<\/strong>, <strong>Charlotte Proceller<\/strong>\u00a0and <strong>Katherine Linell<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>won the opening 4\u00d750 medley relay in 1:44.28, about a second ahead of runner-up Greenwich (1:45.15) and Staples (1:46.95).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/tylor-mathieu-continues-family-legacy-with-verbal-commitment-to-florida\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Florida commit<\/a>\u00a0<strong>Tylor Mathieu<\/strong>\u00a0of RHAM cruised to first in the 200 free for the win, doing so in a swift 1:50.80 to hold off a charging <strong>Anna Turner\u00a0<\/strong>of Ridgefield who<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>was second in 1:51.01. Cheshire\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Julia Stevens\u00a0<\/strong>took third in 1:52.13.<\/p>\n<p>Lynch\u00a0found herself with an individual gold in the 200 IM as the only swimmer in the field under the two-minute mark, getting her hand to the wall six seconds faster than anyone else in 1:59.57. Her time broke her own CT Open mark and she still owns the overall State record in 1:59.30.\u00a0Wethersfield&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Abigail Francis<\/strong>\u00a0was second in 2:05.39 and North Haven\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Angela Gambardella<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>wound up third in 2:05.74.<\/p>\n<p>Cheshire&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sophie Murphy\u00a0<\/strong>sprinted her way to a 50 free gold medal, splashing and dashing her way to a final time of 23.51. Staples&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Marissa Healy<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>was about two-tenths back in 23.70 while Seymour\u2019s <strong>Sierra Cripps\u00a0<\/strong>was third in 23.86.<\/p>\n<p>Not too long after taking second in the 50 free, Healy grabbed an\u00a0individual gold in the 100 fly, where she flew to first place with a time of 55.47.\u00a050 free bronze medalist Cripps finished second in 56.04 as <strong>Maggie Mantz<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>of Hall placed third in 56.56.<\/p>\n<p>Murphy added a victory in the 100 free to match her 50 free gold from earlier. The sophomore won by a little over half a second, racing to the wall in 51.36. Wilton&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Katherine Stevenson<\/strong>\u00a0took the silver in 51.98 and Pappas grabbed the bronze in 52.22.<\/p>\n<p>Mathieu was back in the water after winning the 200 free to earn the State title in the 500 free, claiming victory by four seconds with a final time of 4:55.12. Also sneaking under the five-minute mark was Turner, who again took second with a time of 4:59.79. Lauralton Hall&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Claire\u00a0Kehley\u00a0<\/strong>was third in 5:00.39.<\/p>\n<p>Immac-Bathel&#8217;s <strong>Farrah Volpintesta<\/strong>\u00a0dove to first on the 1-meter board, posting a final score of 530.55 for first place. Watertown\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Kelsey DeJesus\u00a0<\/strong>posted a score of 588.10 for second while Brookfield\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Emma\u00a0Gravgaard\u00a0<\/strong>finished third with 463.05 points.<\/p>\n<p>Staples\u2019\u00a0<strong>Esme Hunter<\/strong>, <strong>Anne Bowens<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Morgan Lenoce\u00a0<\/strong>and Healy combined to win the 4\u00d750 free relay in 1:36.75. Ridgefield was a bit behind in 1:37.07 for the silver while Wethersfield grabbed the bronze in 1:37.20.<\/p>\n<p>After leading off Weston&#8217;s victorious medley relay, Pappas found herself on top of the podium yet again after winning the 100 back by over a full second in 55.48.\u00a0Winning 4&#215;50 free relay leadoff Hunter was the runner-up in 56.59 while Daniel Hand&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kayla Mendonca\u00a0<\/strong>was third in 57.25.<\/p>\n<p>Lynch added the 100 breast title to her 200 IM victory,<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>getting\u00a0her hands to the wall first in 1:02.75 for the win. Gambardella swam to second in 1:03.25 while Weston&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Samantha Kim<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>stopped the clock in 1:03.89 for third.<\/p>\n<p>Greenwich secured their team title as the quartet of\u00a0Lynch, <strong>Jenna Handali<\/strong>, <strong>Emily Warner<\/strong> and <strong>Hannah Seward<\/strong>\u00a0won the 4&#215;100 free relay in 3:28.24.
