Sweden\u2019s <\/span><b>Sarah Sjostrom <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">also came away with two wins tonight, and in the process broke <\/span><b>Katinka Hosszu\u2019s <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">100 IM winning streak. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.omegatiming.com\/Competition?id=000112010BFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF&amp;sport=AQ&amp;year=2018\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Live Results<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<h3><b>Women\u2019s 400 Freestyle<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Germany\u2019s <\/span><b>Reva Foos<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the second seed out of this morning\u2019s prelims, took the win in the opening event of the final World Cup stop, ending <\/span><b>Femke Heemskerk\u2019s <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">World Cup streak in this event. Heemskerk was leading heading into the final 50, but faded badly on the last 50 before Foos stormed by to take the win. In second was Hungary\u2019s <\/span><b>Boglarka Kapas <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(4:08.10) and in third was Australian <\/span><b>Madison Wilson <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(4:08.51). Heemskerk finished in fourth in 4:09.44. <\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Men\u2019s 400 Freestyle<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Australian Olympic gold medalist <\/span><b>Mack Horton <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">was the top finisher in the men\u2019s 400 free, posting a 3:41.44 for the win. Horton has been up and down this short course season, but was able to put together a strong race that had him passing podium finishers <\/span><b>Velimir Stjepanovic <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><b>Blake Pieroni <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">down the final 50. Horton\u2019s season best is a 3:39.52. Stkepanovic finished second in 3:41.52, while Pieroni was just behind in 3:41.94. <\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Women\u2019s 100 IM<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b>Sarah Sjostrom <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><b>Katinka Hosszu <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">had a close battle in the 100 IM, with Sjostrom just edging out a win over Hosszu in the final 57.49 to 57.56. Hosszu, who is the world record holder in the event, couldn\u2019t match her top seed from this morning (57.18) which would have been good for the win here. Sjostrom\u2019s win breaks Hosszu\u2019s streak in this event. Morozov tied his own world record less than a week ago in Tokyo. American <\/span><b>Michael Andrew <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">was second in 51.16, a season best and less than half a second away from <\/span><b>Ryan Lochte\u2019s <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">American record in the event. Seebohm herself finished second in tonight\u2019s final (26.13), just ahead of Toussaint\u2019s teammate <\/span><b>Ranomi Kromowidjojo<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (26.25). <\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Men\u2019s 200 Backstroke<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b>Xu Jiayu<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the newly minted world record holder in the short course 100 back, was the winner in the 200 back to kick off his Singapore World Cup, edging out Australian <\/span><b>Mitch Larkin <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1:48.93 to 1:49.26. Xu led the entire race, and was able to hold off a charging Larkin at the finish. That is just off Xu\u2019s top ranked time from the Tokyo World Cup. The two were well ahead of the rest of the field, with Israel\u2019s <\/span><b>Yakov Yan Toumarkin <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">finishing third in 1:51.98. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Women\u2019s 200 Butterfly<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hosszu was back in the pool for the 200 butterfly, this time coming away with a decisive win in 2:02.86. She finished more than a second ahead of China\u2019s <\/span><b>Zhang Yufei<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (2:03.93). Li won the race in 49.64, dropping a second from his season best from this morning to move to second in the world rankings. He finished more than a second ahead of second place finisher <\/span><b>Matthew Temple<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (50.70). Notably, <\/span><b>Joseph Schooling <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">was fourth here in 51.05, slightly off his morning swim of 50.97. <\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Women\u2019s 200 Breaststroke<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Russian <\/span><b>Yulia Efimova <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">was just off her season-best time of 2:15.62 in tonight\u2019s finals, touching first in 2:16.05. In second was China\u2019s <\/span><b>Ye Shiwen <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in a very strong 2:18.39 that moves her to second in the world rankings. That time is just three tenths of a second off China\u2019s national record. In third was Russian <\/span><b>Vitalina Simonova<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (2:20.96). <\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Men\u2019s 100 Breaststroke<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b>Yan Zibei <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of China had a huge swim in the 100 breast, dropping more than half a second from his season best to move up to first in the world rankings for this season. Yan touched in 56.34, about three tenths ahead of Russian <\/span><b>Anton Chupkov <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(56.69). In third was Belarus\u2019 <\/span><b>Ilya Shymanovich <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(56.81). <\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Women\u2019s 50 Freestyle<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sarah Sjostrom took her second win of the night in the women\u2019s 50 free, out-racing Kromowidjojo to the wall 23.21 to 23.46. This breaks Kromowidjojo\u2019s streak in this event over the last few World Cup stops, and moves Sjostrom up to #1 in the world for this season.
