NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>Eastchester, New York freestyler Ryan Maierle\u00a0<\/strong>has given an in-state verbal commitment to Binghamton University for the fall of 2019.<\/p>\n

Maierle swims year-round with Badger Swim Club and placed 19th in the 400m free at Richmond Futures this summer after recording four lifetime bests at Metropolitan Seniors. He took 11th in the 500 free and 12th in the 200 free at New England Seniors last winter, was a five-time Metropolitan Senior finalist in February and had five top-25 finishes at Ithaca Sectionals in March.<\/p>\n

Also competing for Fordham Prep, Maierle is a four-time New York Federation Championship finalist.\u00a0He placed fourth in the 500 free and seventh in the 200 free during his junior season after finishing ninth and 14th, respectively, in those events as a sophomore.<\/p>\n

He told\u00a0Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n

“I am excited to announce my verbal commitment to Binghamton University. Binghamton offers a great balance between its outstanding academics and athletics that is perfect for me. I would like to thank my family, friends, teammates, and coaches for making this possible. I can\u2019t wait for the next four years. Go Bearcats!”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
