NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>The University of Maryland – Baltimore County (UMBC) has received a new verbal commitment for the fall of 2019, this time from Hollister, Calif. breaststroker\u00a0Mackenzie Thomas<\/strong>.\u00a0She will join\u00a0Halle Gordon<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>as a member of the class of 2023.<\/p>\n

Thomas swims year-round with Santa Clara Swim Club and placed seventh in the 100m breast at Far Westerns and recorded a lifetime best at Santa Clara Futures this summer. She competed in a trio of events at WCAB Seniors last winter and raced both breaststroke distances at Carlsbad Sectionals in March. Also swimming for\u00a0Valley Christian High\u00a0School, Thomas competed in the 100 fly and 100 breast at CIF-Central Coast Sections during her junior season and was part of her team’s 4×50 and 4×100 free relays.<\/p>\n
