Both <strong>Kosuke Hagino<\/strong> and <strong>Katinka Hosszu<\/strong> could potentially double up on wins on day three while swimmers like <strong>Vlad Morozov<\/strong> and <strong>Kirill Prigoda<\/strong> will focus on one event after quick swims this morning.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.omegatiming.com\/Competition?id=000112010AFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF&amp;sport=AQ&amp;year=2018\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Live Results<\/a><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Women\u2019s 800 Freestyle<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><b>Mahiro Ishii<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> put up the quickest 800 Freestyle with one heat remaining at finals. Her time was 8:27.45 ahead of <\/span><b>Franziska Hentke<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (8:30.36) and <\/span><b>Mia Yamamoto<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (8:33.19). All three swims have the potential to place in the top eight.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Men\u2019s 400 IM<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><b>Kosuke Hagino<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> posted the second-fastest time in the world this year in the early heats of the men\u2019s 400 IM. His time of 4:01.93 could win the whole event despite a strong field in the final including <\/span><b>David Verraszto<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Ippei Watanabe<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>Travis Mahoney<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><b>Keiya Tamaru<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (4:09.08) and <\/span><b>Ippei Miyamoto<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (4:09.22) also posted times that could land in the top eight. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Women\u2019s 100 Butterfly<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><b>Sarah Sjostrom<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> cruised to the top seed in the 100 Butterfly in 56.73 ahead of <\/span><b>Zhang Yufei <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(56.93) and <\/span><b>Rikako Ikee<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (57.41). <\/span><b>Nao Kobayashi<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (57.62), <\/span><b>Sayane Ueno <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(57.65), <\/span><b>Ai Souma <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(57.73), <\/span><b>Alia Atkinson<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (57.79) and <\/span><b>Anna Shinno <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(57.81) will also race in the final. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Men\u2019s 50 Butterfly<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><b>Dylan Carter<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> took the top seed in the men\u2019s butterfly race coming in at 22.66. USA\u2019s <\/span><b>Michael Andrew <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">was second with a season best of 22.76. The swims move the swimmers to fifth and eighth in the world rankings. He was followed by <\/span><b>Kousuke Matsui<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (22.82) and <\/span><b>Vlad Morozov<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (22.93). <\/span><b>Naoki Mizunuma<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (22.98), <\/span><b>Yuuya Tanaka<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (23.01), <\/span><b>Kengo Ida<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (23.01) and <\/span><b>Takeshi Kawamoto<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (23.05) placed fifth through eighth. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Women\u2019s 200 Backstroke<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><b>Minna Atherton<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> continued her successful meet with the top time in the 200 Backstroke. A 2:04.58 was enough to get the edge over <\/span><b>Katinka Hosszu<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> who raced to a 2:04.97. <\/span><b>Marina Furubayashi<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> was third in 2:05.10 and <\/span><b>Emily Seebohm<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> was fourth in 2:05.56.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They will be joined by <\/span><b>Rio Shirai<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (2:05.66), <\/span><b>Rika Yuhara<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (2:06.00), <\/span><b>Liu Yaxin <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(2:06.45) and <\/span><b>Mayuko Gotou<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (2:06.54). <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Men\u2019s 100 Backstroke<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Australia\u2019s <\/span><b>Mitchell Larkin<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> swam a quick 50.18 in the 100 Backstroke. The swim is only two tenths off his season best from Budapest. China\u2019s <\/span><b>Xu Jiayu<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> was next in 50.46, the fifth-best time in the world this year. <\/span><b>Masaki Kaneko<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> was third in 51.27 and Germany\u2019s <\/span><b>Christian Diener<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> was fourth in 51.33. Andrew (51.33), <\/span><b>Hayate Matsubara <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(51.62), Mahoney (51.68) and <\/span><b>Yuuma Edo<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (51.74) will round out the final. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Women\u2019s 50 Breaststroke<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><b>Yulia Efimova<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and Atkinson have set up another breaststroke battle after going 30.23 and 30.30 in the prelims of the 50 distance. <\/span><b>Siobhan O\u2019Connor<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from Great Britain is also in the mix at 30.42 as is Seebohm in 30.78. <\/span><b>Yuki Takasaki <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(31.16), <\/span><b>Vitalina Simonova<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (31.37), <\/span><b>Rikke Pedersen<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (31.39) and <\/span><b>Ayumi Kishi <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(31.41) also qualified for the final. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Men\u2019s 200 Breaststroke<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><b>Kirill Prigoda<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> kept the fast swimming going on the men\u2019s side with a 202.79 in the 200 Breaststroke. The swim is one second off his season best from Budapest as well. Australia\u2019s <\/span><b>Matthew Wilson<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> did not waste any time either coming in at 2:03.89, the sixth-fastest time in the world this year. <\/span><b>Anton Chupkov<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> took a more relaxed approach coming in at 2:04.20 for third. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Hiromasa Fujimori <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(2:04.70), <\/span><b>Marco Koch<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (2:04.97), <\/span><b>Ilya Shymanovich<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (2:05.34), Watanabe (2:05.37) and <\/span><b>Yasuhiro Takahashi <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(2:05.55) placed fifth through eighth. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Women\u2019s 100 Freestyle<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><b>Pernille Blume<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> led the way in the 100 Freestyle in 52.30. <\/span><b>Femke Heemskerk <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">will be one to watch in the final after posting a 52.58 for second. <\/span><b>Ranomi Kromowidjojo<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> was third in 52.61 and was followed by <\/span><b>Zhu Menghui<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in 52.95. Sjostrom (53.02), <\/span><b>Aya Satou<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (53.27), <\/span><b>Tomomi Aoki<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (53.45) and <\/span><b>Kira Toussaint <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(53.52) will also compete in the final. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Men\u2019s 200 Freestyle<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Kyle Chalmers<\/strong> got to the wall first amongst a loaded 200 Freestyle field. His time of 1:43.89 was just ahead of Great Britain&#8217;s <strong>James Guy<\/strong> in 1:44.21. Carter was third in 1:44.44 while USA&#8217;s <strong>Blake Pieroni<\/strong> was fourth in 1:44.45.<\/p>\n<p>Hagino (1:45.07), <strong>Wang Shun<\/strong> (1:45.15), <strong>Mack Horton<\/strong> (1:45.33) and <strong>Poul Zellmann<\/strong> of Germany (1:45.35) took the remaining positions in the final.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Women\u2019s 200 IM<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Hosszu led the 200 IM prelim from start to finish, racing to a 2:06.05 for the top seed. <strong>Ye Shiwen<\/strong> was next in 2:08.10. <strong>Yui Ohhashi<\/strong> was third in 2:08.36 and O&#8217;Connor took fourth in 2:08.93. <strong>Rika Oomoto<\/strong> (2:09.08), <strong>Hiroko Makino<\/strong> (2:09.38), Seebohm (2:09.50) and <strong>Sakiko Shimizu<\/strong> (2:10.14) will round out the heat.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The final morning of the 2018 FINA World Cup Tokyo stop featured nine preliminaries and two timed finals.
