NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>Xavier University has received a new verbal commitment for the fall of 2019 from Broomfield, Colorado butterflyer\u00a0Sophia Romero<\/strong>. She will join\u00a0Brooke Atkins<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>as a member of the class of 2023.<\/p>\n

Romero swims year-round with the Front Range Barracudas and capped off her summer season with five best times and a runner-up finish in the 100m fly at the Western Zone Senior Championships after taking second in the 200m fly at CO LCM Seniors. She was a four-time finalist at the Colorado Pioneer Open last winter with her highest finish being a fourth-place showing in the 100 fly. Also representing Legacy High School, Romero\u00a0placed tenth in the 100 fly during her junior season at the Colorado 5A State Championships.<\/p>\n
