We are in store for yet another exciting week around the Big 12 conference. Last week we saw both Texas squads defeat in-state rival Texas A&M while the Kansas Jayhawks earned a victory against their rival Nebraska.<\/p>\n

Iowa State got past Big 12 opponent TCU last week in a double dual with SMU.<\/p>\n

This week the Texas men will travel to Knoxville to take on Tennessee and Auburn in a double dual while the women will travel further west to swim Stanford.<\/p>\n

The other meet around the Big 12 this weekend will be a TCU vs. Trinity matchup in Fort Worth, Texas.<\/p>\n

Kansas and Iowa State both have the weekend off as they gear up for their respective invitationals next weekend.<\/p>\n

Check below for a breakdown of this weekend’s action.<\/p>\n

Texas Takes on Tennessee<\/h3>\n

The University of Texas men’s squad are set to take on the University of Tennessee and Auburn University this weekend at the Jones Aquatic Center in Knoxville.<\/p>\n

Texas and Tennessee are both coming off victories from last week’s duals. Texas topped Texas A&M while Tennessee got passed Purdue and Wisconsin.<\/p>\n

This week we should see another Texas win as it is hard to imagine either Tennessee or Auburn putting together a deep enough roster to get past the Longhorns.<\/p>\n

The usual suspects will be at bat for Texas; Ryan Harty<\/strong>, John Shebat<\/strong>, Jason Park<\/strong> and Austin Katz<\/strong> will lead the dense backstroke squad while Chris Yeager<\/strong>, John-Thomas Larson<\/strong> and Jack Collins<\/strong> will take the distance freestyle responsibilities.<\/p>\n

Townley Haas<\/strong> and Drew Kibler<\/strong> will likely step into the mid-distance freestyle range, as they did last weekend against the Aggies.<\/p>\n

The one whole in the Longhorns’ roster is the sprint-freestyle areas. The Longhorns will rely on Tate<\/strong> Jackson<\/strong> and\u00a0Daniel Krueger<\/strong> in the splash n’ dash.<\/p>\n

TCU Hosts Trinity<\/h3>\n

The Horned Frogs from Texas Christian University will host Trinity in Fort Worth this Friday. The men’s squad will likely rely on the trio of Dayne Odendaal<\/strong> who won the 1,000 free and 200 IM last weekend against SMU.<\/p>\n

Noah Cumby<\/strong> won the 200 free(1:41.41) and took second in the 50 (21.16) and 100 (45.97) freestyles versus SMU, so the Horned Frogs will look to him to do the same against Trinity.<\/p>\n

Joao Andrade\u00a0<\/strong>was useful last week in the 500 free as he posted a swift 4:36.30 against the Mustangs.<\/p>\n

On the women’s side,\u00a0Nicqueline Rettberg<\/strong> took the distance free events by storm last week by winning both the 500 and 1000 in times of 5:04.99 and 10:28.39.<\/p>\n

Kiki Rice<\/strong> will likely take the stroke responsibilities as she took wins in both the 200 fly (2:07.17) and 200 back (2:04.76) last weekend.<\/p>\n

Emily Visagie<\/strong>\u00a0will be the go-to girl in the breast events with her 1:05.35 and 2:20.16 in the 100 and 200 distances from last weekend.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
