THE first full day of action kicked off this evening in Oklahoma City with Oklahoma Baptist running away with the night. Meanwhile, a few NAIA records also took a tumble, much fewer than the onslaught that occurred by Fresno Pacific in 2012.

Oklahoma Baptist's Lisa MacManus (25.90), Kerryn Mullin (28.76), Laura Galatza (24.28) and Emma Forbes-Milne (22.70) clinched the first title of the night with a 1:41.64 in the women's 200-yard medley relay. That swim nearly bested the NAIA record of 1:41.40 set by Fresno Pacific last year. SCAD's Hannah Legg, Claire Partlow, Kelsey Bobzien and Haley Thompson took second in 1:45.90, while Cumberlands' Lizzy Horn, Kaleigh Botill, Charlotte Parent and Melissa Peplinski wound up third in 1:46.19.

OBU's Daniel Ramirez sparked an NAIA record in the men's 200-yard medley relay with a 21.95 leadoff. Greg Penny (24.75), Garland Sullivan (21.28) and Logan Lassley (19.68) brought it home for OBU with a 1:27.66 for the win. That time cut a second off Fresno Pacific's 2012 record of 1:28.76. SCAD's Ryan Searles, Marc Fleischmann, Mark Shvartsman and Sean Sloat wound up second in 1:30.95. Union's Louis Glavinos Jr., Vinicius Rossi, Travis Strachan and Jeff Snider placed third in 1:31.85.

OBU's Nicole Wilson followed up with a 4:59.02 to win the women's 500-yard free. SCAD's Emma McKinley took second in 5:02.93, while Olivet Nazarene's Samantha Elam touched third in 5:03.25. Olivet Nazarene's Andrew Fischer stopped the OBU freight train with a 4:32.93 in the men's 500-yard free. OBU's Javier Sossa (4:35.91) and Andrew Nelson (4:36.19) rounded out the podium.

In the closest finish of the night, Cumberlands' Charlotte Parent touched out Brenau's Hannah Boudreaux, 2:05.30 to 2:05.37, in the women's 200 IM. Biola's Christina Tixier earned third-place honors in 2:06.36. OBU dominated the men's 200-yard IM with a 1-2-3 finish. Daniel Ramirez, who earlier turned in a scorching 50-yard back leadoff, topped the IM in 1:50.19. Teammates Maximilian Abreu (1:50.55) and Gill Cantrelle (1:50.64) took second and third.

OBU turned up the heat in the women's 50 free as well, with a 1-2-3-5. Laura Galarza took home the gold in 22.99, while Emma Forbes-Milne (23.15), Lisa MacManus (23.42) and Lexie Keller (24.25) also scored for OBU. The Bison men then one-upped their female counterparts with a 1-2-3-5-8 in the men's splash-and-dash. Nick Schuttinger cleared the NAIA record in the event with a 19.83. That performance beat the 19.90 set by Cal Baptist's Russell Thompson in 2007. Logan Lassley (20.01), Garland Sullivan (20.44), AJ Barbar (20.61) and Daniel Robbins (21.04) also picked up big points for the Bison.

OBU's Nicole Wilson (1:50.79), Laura Galarza (1:52.14), Lexie Keller (1:53.85) and Michelle Glass (1:58.18) closed out the night with a 7:34.96 to win the women's 800 free relay. SCAD's Hannah Legg, Haley Thompson, Claire Partlow and Emma McKinley finished second in 7:39.20. Brenau's Michelle Billeaud, Meredith Barrington, Mary Katherine Jabbia and Hannah Boudreaux took third in 7:48.05.

OBU's Nick Schuttinger (1:36.87), Javier Sossa (1:41.65), Andrew Nelson (1:41.09) and Maximiliano Abreu (1:40.87) eased through the men's 800 free relay with a 6:40.48 for the win. SCAD's Mark Shvartsman, Ryan Searles, Sean Sloat and Pat Cardillo took second in 6:44.57, while Olivet Nazarene's Andrew Fischer, Simon Pheasant, Sam Borgman and Bradley Adamson placed third in 6:51.60.

Women's Top Five
Oklahoma Baptist 290
SCAD 153
Cumberlands 145
Olivet Nazarene 105
Brenau 97

Men's Top Five
Oklahoma Baptist 338
Concordia-Irvine 144
Olivet Nazarene 141
Illinois Tech 134
SCAD 119

OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma, February 28.
