THE Sandpipers swim team, located in Las Vegas, was so excited about its third consecutive title at the Nevada State Swimming Championships (Feb. 21-24) that they decided to celebrate by creating their own Harlem Shake video.<\/p>\n<p>Although 30-second video clips of people doing the Harlem Shake are now practically inescapable on the internet, the Sandpipers had an extra-special reason to celebrate their victory by re-creating the video: the club team was displaced from its home pool a month before the championship meet.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/0yJVyGkqikA\" width=\"420\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Despite having to scramble to find pool space while their Desert Breeze pool was under renovation, the Sandpipers defended their title by nearly 450 points over The Boulder City Henderson swim club.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our swimmers worked really hard for this victory,&#8221; head coach Ron Aitken said. &#8220;We are a strong group with dedicated swimmers, supported by families that know how to push through even the most trying times. This win is a testament of that, and we intend to keep the legacy alive for a long time.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Young Sandpiper talent dominated the meet. Carter Grimes (14), Brennan Gravley (12) and Dylan Gravley (10) all achieved individual first-place sweeps in their events. For the third year in a row, Dylan Gravley won the individual high-point award for his age group.
