THERE&#039;s certainly been some amazing swims throughout the history of the Eastern Interscholastic Swimming and Diving Championships, but this evening during the 113th edition of the meet, Germantown became the first program to put up a girls high school 400-yard freestyle relay under 3:22. <\/p>\n<p>The foursome of Shannon McKernan (49.93), Meagan Dollard (50.35), Madison Visco (51.22) and Rachel Zilinskas (50.13) blazed to a time of 3:21.63 in the event live on SwimmingWorld.TV.  The performance blew the doors off the facility as the fans nearly drowned out our own Jeff Commings on the play-by-play call.<\/p>\n<p>Tonight&#039;s performance downed the overall and independent national record in the event, previously held by Germantown&#039;s Katie Riefenstahl, Sara Coenen, Teresa Crippen and Alicia Aemisegger with a 3:22.34 in 2006.  Hershey&#039;s 3:22.85 from 2011 still remains on the books as the national public school record.  <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-partner=\"tweetdeck\">\n<p>@<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/swimmingworld\">swimmingworld<\/a> thanks!! Rachel Zilinskas (@rachzili13) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/rachzili13\/status\/305504147606745088\">February 24, 2013<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Peddie&#039;s Patrick Park (45.56), Bradley Cline (44.56), Joshua Daniel (45.59) and Michael Nunan (44.27) then joined just a handful of high school teams under 3:00 in the boys 400-yard free relay as they tied the 1991 meet record of 2:59.98 set by The Bolles School.
