The Tampa, Fla., native will make his way to Durham to join the Blue Devils in the fall of 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Driscoll swims year-round for the Greater Tampa Swimming Association where he is a U.S. Open qualifier in the mile. He most recently raced in all three distance events at Nationals this past summer and recorded a tenth-place finish in the 1650 free at Juniors East last December. At NCSAs in March, he finished second in the mile to earn a spot on the Irish Open Selection Team. Driscoll, who attended the National Open Water Select Camp at the end of August, is an 11-time Florida Senior Championship finalist over the past three years.<\/p>\n<p>Also competing for Jesuit High School, Driscoll won the FHSAA 2A State title in the 500 free during his junior season and will aim to defend his crown this fall as a senior. He won the 500 free and was the 200 free runner-up at the 2A Region 3 meet a week prior and earned the bronze in the former at State during his sophomore campaign. Driscoll has also earned NISCA and USA Swimming Scholastic All-American honors for his efforts.<\/p>\n<p>He told <em>Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>&#8220;I am extremely grateful to Coach Colella and his coaching staff for this amazing opportunity. I am excited to be able to continue my swimming career as a Blue Devil at Duke!&#8221;<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>His best times include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>200 free \u2013 1:41.91<\/li>\n<li>500 free \u2013 4:27.01<\/li>\n<li>1000 free \u2013 9:12.28<\/li>\n<li>1650 free \u2013 15:14.60<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Driscoll will make an immediate impact for the Blue Devils when he arrives on campus as a member of the class of 2023.
