\nThe doctors told her that she wouldn't be able to work again. They told her that driving would be near impossible, and that her speech would likely be impaired for the rest of her life. They told her that life would never be normal again. Tammy Ladd, the program manager for USA Water Polo, had beaten an accident that nearly took her life, and there was no one that was going to tell her that something couldn't be done.<\/p>\n
Now, Ladd will get to live out a childhood dream by carrying the Olympic torch back to the place that nearly crushed that dream two years ago.<\/p>\n

\nUSA Water Polo driver Tony Azevedo has been selected to the list of 14 finalists in the running for the 72nd Annual AAU James E. Sullivan Award. The award is presented annually to the top amateur athlete in the
\nUnited States by the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), and is based as much on leadership, character, and sportsmanship, as it is on athletic accomplishment.<\/p>\n
