NEW COMMIT:<\/strong>\u00a0Breaststroker\u00a0Jered Poland\u00a0<\/strong>of Denham Springs, La. has announced his verbal commitment to\u00a0University of Montevallo.\u00a0He is the first-ever recruit for the Falcons who will begin their inaugural season<\/a> under new head coach\u00a0Aaron\u00a0Mahaney\u00a0<\/strong>next fall.<\/p>\n

Poland does his club swimming with Crawfish Aquatics and capped off a strong summer season by finishing seventh in the 200m breast and ninth in the 100m breast at the LA 13&O Championships. He also earned the bronze in the 100 breast at the LA 13&O Championships in March. Poland is a two-time Louisiana State Championship finalist in the 100 breast: he finished eighth as a sophomore and 13th during his junior season.<\/p>\n

“My journey throughout swimming has been outstanding. I never thought this would happen to me when I started swimming in 2012. A million thanks to my family, friends and the coaches that have coached and will be coaching me to be better than my best.
