NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>Fort Wayne, Ind. native and high school junior\u00a0Tristan Dewitt\u00a0<\/strong>has announced his verbal intention to stay in-state and swim for the Indiana Hoosiers as a member of the class of 2024.<\/p>\n

Dewitt does his club swimming with Fort Wayne Swim Team and has met the U.S. Open standard in both breaststroke events. He finished 13th in the 200m breast and 15th in the 100m breast at Juniors this summer after placing 11th in the former at TYR Pro Swim Series Indianapolis in May. He was a three-time finalist and achieved 100% best times at Juniors East last winter and won both breaststroke events as well as the 200 IM at Indiana Seniors in March.<\/p>\n

Also swimming for Fort Wayne Carroll High School, Dewitt is a four-time Indiana State Championship finalist.\u00a0The NISCA All-American was the 200 IM runner-up and took fourth in the 100 breast as a sophomore after placing 15th and 16th, respectively, in those events as a freshman.<\/p>\n

The coaching staff is always looking for ways to improve their swimmers in many ways. I knew at this college I would flourish and truly feel like I was a part of the team.
