A couple of weeks ago, Michael McBroom of the University of Texas swam an 8:43.48 in the 1000 freestyle in a dual meet against Arizona, a time that would become the NCAA record. The 1000 freestyle is not swum at the Division I or Division III levels at the NCAA championships, and we wanted to know if you thought the race should be added to those programs. With 68.61 percent, our voters overwhelmingly said yes, with 31.39 percent said no. If it were to be added, it&#039;s likely the Division I meet would have to become a four-day meet to include the change, and the Division III meet is already four days long.<\/p>\n<p>We&#039;re moving to high school swimming for our new poll question, and we want to know if you think this upcoming graduating Class of 2013 is the best class high school swimming has ever seen. It includes Missy Franklin, Jack Conger and Ryan Murphy, all of whom broke national high school records, as well as Lia Neal, who competed with Franklin at the 2012 Olympics. Not in recent memory has there been a high school class like this, and if you think this is the best in history, vote yes in our poll on our home page.
