He will join the class of 2023 and plans to major in cell and molecular biology.<\/p>\n<p>Witzki swims year-round with Tsunami Swim Team of Kansas City under head coach\u00a0<strong>Tom Kleiboeker\u00a0<\/strong>and has achieved the Junior National standard in the 100 fly. He was a six-time Jenks Speedo Sectionals qualifier this summer with his highest finish being a 13th-place showing in the 50m back. He placed fourth in the 50 fly and sixth in the 100 fly at Columbia Speedo Sectionals in March.<\/p>\n<p>Also representing Liberty Senior High School where his mother,\u00a0<strong>Stacy Witzki<\/strong>, coaches, he is a six-time Missouri State Class 2 Championship finalist.\u00a0He won both the 50 free and 100 fly as a junior after placing fifth and third, respectively, in those events during his sophomore campaign. He has also earned USA Swimming Scholastic All-American and Missouri Valley All-Academic Team honors.<\/p>\n<p>He told\u00a0<em>Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>\u201cI am happy and privileged to announce that I will be continuing my academic and swimming career at Missouri State University! The coaching staff is made up of great people, and the team atmosphere is very close and supportive. There is also great support on the academic side of the school from faculty. I am confident they will provide me with the skills I need professionally and athletically!\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>His best times include:<strong>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>50 Fly &#8211; 22.44<\/li>\n<li>100 Fly &#8211; 49.75<\/li>\n<li>200 Fly &#8211; 1:55.54<\/li>\n<li>50 Free &#8211; 21.27<\/li>\n<li>100 Free &#8211; 46.74<\/li>\n<li>200 Free &#8211; 1:41.56<\/li>\n<li>100 Back &#8211; 51.21<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When he suits up for the Bears next fall, Witzki will join a fly group that is led by\u00a0<strong>Jake Schultz\u00a0<\/strong>and he would&#8217;ve scored in the B-final of both fly events at the 2018 MAC Championships.
