Michael Phelps might be Ray Lewis&#039; best friend, but Tucker has a closer connection to the Ravens as the younger sister of placekicker Justin Tucker. Tucker was able to get on the field to congratulate her big brother on the win, just a couple of days after she helped the Longhorns beat Arizona and SMU in a tri-meet in Austin. Maybe Samantha can bring an NCAA championship ring to the Tucker home to go along with Justin&#039;s Super Bowl ring.<\/p>\n<p>The famous Belmont Plaza Olympic pool in Long Beach, California, is closing permanently after engineers deemed the 45-year-old pool too unsafe to use in any capacity. City officials are recommending a new permanent facility be built in the same area as the old pool, though two pools are recommended, one indoor and one outdoor. The cost to construct the new facility? Between $54 million and $62 million. That facility could take up to three years to build, and in the meantime, a temporary pool will likely be put up in the pool&#039;s parking lot.<\/p>\n<p>And finally today, Rebecca Adlington announced her retirement today, ending an illustrious career that made her the most decorated female British swimmer in history. Adlington won&#039;t be leaving the pool completely. She&#039;ll be working with an organization called the Becky Adlington Swim Stars, created to help get every kid to know how to swim 25 meters. Adlington&#039;s final meet was in the London Olympics in front of a very appreciative crowd, where she won two bronze medals in the 400 and 800 freestyles.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PHOENIX, Arizona, February 5.
