NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>Markham, Ontario native\u00a0Brooke Switzer\u00a0<\/strong>has announced her verbal commitment to Georgia Tech and will suit up for the Yellow Jackets next fall.<\/p>\n

Switzer swims year-round with Markham Aquatic Club in Canada. She capped off a successful summer season at the Canadian Junior Championships where she earned the silver in the 800m free and the bronze in the 400m free. At the Canadian Championships in April, Switzer’s highest finish was a seventh-place showing in the 800m free; she also took 11th in the mile and 12th in the 400m free. She was also a four-time Ontario Provincial champion.<\/p>\n

She told\u00a0Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n

“I chose Georgia Tech due to its outstanding academics and amazing swim team. I can\u2019t wait to be a part of such a wonderful school!! I\u2019d like to thank my parents for taking their time to drive me to and from the pool every day, and my coaches for pushing me harder than I thought possible. I couldn\u2019t have done this without them and everyone else in my life including my family, friends, teammates and teachers. I can\u2019t wait to see what the future holds!! GO JACKETS!!”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
