{"id":332368,"date":"2018-10-07T18:11:02","date_gmt":"2018-10-08T01:11:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=332368"},"modified":"2018-10-07T18:11:02","modified_gmt":"2018-10-08T01:11:02","slug":"2018-youth-olympics-opens-with-three-medal-events","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/2018-youth-olympics-opens-with-three-medal-events\/","title":{"rendered":"2018 Youth Olympics Opens With Three Medal Events"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 2018 Youth Olympic Games opened on Sunday in Buenos Aires.<\/p>\n<p>Several of the top youth swimmers from countries around the world kicked off the competition with some fast swimming.<\/p>\n<p>Here is a look at the first day finals swims:<\/p>\n<h3>Men\u2019s 400 Free<\/h3>\n<p>Hungary\u2019s <strong>Kristof Milak<\/strong> earned the first gold medal of the games by winning the 400 free in 3:48.08.<\/p>\n<p>Italy\u2019s <strong>Marco De Tullio<\/strong> took the silver in 2:48.55, while Japan\u2019s <strong>Keisuke Yoshida<\/strong> earned the bronze in 3:48.68.<\/p>\n<h3>Womens\u2019 200 IM<\/h3>\n<p>Israel\u2019s <strong>Anastasia Gorbenko<\/strong> won the gold medal in the 200 IM, finishing a second ahead of the rest of the field.<\/p>\n<p>Serbia\u2019s <strong>Anja Crevar<\/strong> won the silver in 2:13.98, while France\u2019s <strong>Cyrielle Duhamel<\/strong> took the bronze in 2:14.15.<\/p>\n<h3>Mixed 4&#215;100 Free Relay<\/h3>\n<p>Russia\u2019s <strong>Kliment Kolesnikov, Andrei Minakov, Polina Egorova<\/strong> and <strong>Elizaveta Klevanovich<\/strong> won the mixed 4&#215;100 free relay in 3:28.50.<\/p>\n<p>Brazil\u2019s L<strong>ucas Martins Costa Peixoto, Ana Carolina Vieira, Andre Luiz Calvelo de Souza<\/strong> and <strong>Rafaela Tevisan Raurich<\/strong> took the silver in 3:30.13.<\/p>\n<p>China\u2019s <strong>Shen Jiahao, Hong Jinquan, Lin Xintong<\/strong> and <strong>Yang Junxuan<\/strong> took the bronze in 3:30.45.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 2018 Youth Olympic Games opened on Sunday in Buenos Aires.
