The girls won five events while the boys used impressive depth to repeat as champions. The meet took place on October 5 at the University of South Carolina Natatorium.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/results\/2018-south-carolina-schsl-4a-state-championships\/high-school\/2018\/October\/5?rtn=%2Fresults%2Fhigh-school%3Fpage%3D1%26orderBy%3DResult.MeetStartDateTime%26sortDirection%3D1%26q%3D\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Click here for full results.<\/a><\/p>\n<h1><strong>Girls Meet<\/strong><\/h1>\n<h2>Top 5 Team Scores:<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Eastside \u2013 381.5<\/li>\n<li>Hilton Head Island \u2013 226<\/li>\n<li>South Aiken \u2013 215<\/li>\n<li>AC Flora \u2013 173<\/li>\n<li>Greenville \u2013 159<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>South Aiken\u2019s <strong>Kaitlyn Golyski, Jordan Foster, Kendall Leigh <\/strong>and <strong>Reagan Houck <\/strong>began the meet with a win in the 4&#215;50 medley relay, stopping the clock in 1:50.34.<\/p>\n<p>Eastside\u2019s <strong>Riley Parker <\/strong>won a close 200 free battle in 1:52.17 to defend her title, edging out Dreher\u2019s <strong>Hayley Mason <\/strong>(1:52.31). Parker then went on to win the 100 free (52.24) ahead of Wren\u2019s <strong>Kate Beckish <\/strong>(52.86). Beckish won the 50 free (24.01) by a full second.<\/p>\n<p>Greenville\u2019s <strong>Anna Havens Rice <\/strong>had a dominant performance in the 200 IM, defending her title in 2:04.96 to finish six seconds ahead of Hilton Head Island runner-up <strong>Meaghan Lyons. <\/strong>Havens Rice successfully defended her 100 breast title as well in 1:04.67, again finishing just ahead of Lyons (1:05.85).<\/p>\n<p>The 100 fly was yet another close race as Eastside\u2019s <strong>Cara Bognar <\/strong>(58.08) came out on top over Foster (58.20). Bognar earned her second individual title in the 500 free, touching the wall in 5:01.02. Lancaster\u2019s <strong>Makenzy Mills <\/strong>was the only swimmer in the field to crack the one-minute barrier in the 100 back, doing so in a swift 57.60.<\/p>\n<p>Dreher\u2019s <strong>Jane Koch, Hannah Ammons, Eleanor Wachtel <\/strong>and Mason combined to win the 4&#215;50 free relay in 1:43.05 for the second-straight year. Eastside\u2019s Bognar, <strong>Caroline Parker, Ella Penny <\/strong>and Parker concluded the meet with a 4&#215;100 free victory (3:36.62).<\/p>\n<h1><strong>Boys Meet<\/strong><\/h1>\n<h2>Top 5 Team Scores:<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Eastside \u2013 371.5<\/li>\n<li>North Augusta \u2013 203.5<\/li>\n<li>Hilton Head Island \u2013 200<\/li>\n<li>South Aiken \u2013 173.5<\/li>\n<li>AC Flora \u2013 127.5<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Just like the girls, South Aiken\u2019s <strong>Michael Robinson, Wyatt Matthews, Reid Chafin <\/strong>and <strong>Jacob Buck <\/strong>began the boys\u2019 meet with a 4&#215;50 medley relay win in 1:35.55. Buck, <strong>Lincoln Green, <\/strong>Robinson and Chafin also won the 4&#215;50 free relay (1:27.69).<\/p>\n<p>Buck won the 50 free in 21.46, just out-touching his teammate Chafin (21.51). AC Flora\u2019s <strong>Emerson Edwards <\/strong>swam to gold for the second year in a row in the 100 free (46.73) while Chafin (46.97) and Buck (47.39) followed.<\/p>\n<p>Hilton Head Island\u2019s <strong>Kevin Geist <\/strong>defended his 200 free title in 1:43.40 while his teammate <strong>Cohen Bruner <\/strong>finished second in 1:45.31. Geist also won the 100 fly for the second-straight year in 50.88. AC Flora\u2019s <strong>Tanner Edwards <\/strong>powered home to a 100 back win (51.64) while North Augusta\u2019s <strong>Zak Griffin <\/strong>(56.89) earned the 100 breast title.<\/p>\n<p>Eastside\u2019s <strong>Dawson Kramer <\/strong>led the way in the 200 IM, stopping the clock in 1:55.33 ahead of Myrtle Beach\u2019s <strong>Ian Morgan <\/strong>(1:56.06). Morgan then went on to win the 500 free in 4:39.38, just over 12 seconds faster than his runner-up finish last year.
