NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>High school junior\u00a0Gianluca Urlando<\/strong> has verbally committed to the University of Georgia as part of the class of 2024.\u00a0Urlando is a member of the United States National Team and owns the 15-16 National Age Group Record in the 100m fly.<\/p>\n

A native of Sacramento, Calif., Urlando swims year-round with DART Swimming under head coach\u00a0Billy Doughty.\u00a0<\/strong>He is coming off an extremely successful summer, placing third in the 200m fly at Nationals to earn himself a spot on the National Team. He then went on to sweep the 100m and 200m fly at the Junior Pan Pac Championships. In addition to owning the NAG record in the 100m fly, he currently ranks second all-time in the 15-16 age group in the 200m fly behind\u00a0Michael Phelps.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Urlando was a four-time finalist at Juniors West last December and earned three golds, two silvers and a bronze at College Station Speedo Sectionals in March.\u00a0He also represented CK McClatchy High School at the 2017 CIF State Championships during his sophomore year where he was the runner-up in the 100 back.<\/p>\n
