NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>Northwestern University has earned a verbal pledge from Montrose, Colorado’s\u00a0Ryan King\u00a0<\/strong>who will bring his distance freestyle talents to the Wildcats next fall.<\/p>\n

King swims year-round with Montrose Marlins Swim Club and owns a pair of U.S. Open cuts. He capped off his summer season with two top-15 finishes at Junior Nationals after winning a trio of events at Colorado Senior LCM Championships. He was the 1000 free runner-up at Juniors West last December and won both the 1000 and mile at the Longhorn Aquatics Super Sectional meet.<\/p>\n

King also swims for Montrose High School and is a six-time Colorado 4A State Championship finalist.\u00a0He won the 500 free and placed fourth in the 200 free as a junior after placing second and sixth, respectively, in those events during his sophomore campaign.\u00a0King has also earned NISCA and USA Swimming Scholastic All-American honors for his efforts.<\/p>\n
