Kathleen Baker<\/strong> set the short-course meters American record in the 100 back.<\/p>\n

Women\u2019s 400 IM<\/h3>\n

Hungary\u2019s Katinka Hosszu<\/strong> continued her dominance in the 400 IM, winning in 4:25.15, more than two seconds ahead of the field.<\/p>\n

Japan\u2019s Yui Ohashi<\/strong> was second in 4:27.42 and China\u2019s Zhou Min<\/strong> was third in 4:30.26.<\/p>\n

Men\u2019s 1500 Free<\/h3>\n

Azerbaijan got on the top podium in the men\u2019s 1500 free as Maksym Shemberev<\/strong> cruised to victory in 14:45.17.<\/p>\n

He finished 13 seconds ahead of the rest of the field.<\/p>\n

China\u2019s Qiu Ziao<\/strong> was second in 14:58.08 and Germany\u2019s Poul Zellmann<\/strong> was third in 14:59.01.<\/p>\n

Men\u2019s 50 Back<\/h3>\n

Australia\u2019s Mitch Larkin<\/strong> continued his strong meet by winning the 50 back. He finished in 23.34 to finish just ahead of Russia\u2019s Vladimir Morozov (<\/strong>23.42).<\/p>\n

Japan\u2019s Kosuke Matsui<\/strong> was third in 23.57 and Michael Andrew<\/strong> of the U.S. was fourth in 23.73, finishing ahead of Japan\u2019s Ryosuke Irie<\/strong> (23.81).<\/p>\n

Women\u2019s 200 Free<\/h3>\n

Sweden\u2019s Sarah Sjostrom<\/strong> led start to finish to win the 200 freestyle in 1:52.25, continuing her dominance at World Cup events.<\/p>\n

She finished ahead of Femke Heemskerk<\/strong> of the Netherlands, who clocked a 1:52.98.<\/p>\n

China\u2019s Wang Jianjiahe<\/strong> took third in 1:53.40, just ahead of Melanie Margalis<\/strong> of the U.S., who finished in 1:54.30.<\/p>\n

Leah Smith<\/strong> of the U.S. finished seventh in 1:56.37.<\/p>\n

Men\u2019s 200 IM<\/h3>\n

Japan had a strong showing in the 200 IM, finishing 1-2 in the event.<\/p>\n

Daiya Seto<\/strong> had a dominating performance to set a new World Cup record in the event. He finished in 1:51.09 to break the previous record of 1:51.27 set by Japan\u2019s Kosuke Hagino<\/strong> in 2014.<\/p>\n

Japan\u2019s Ryosuke Irie<\/strong> finished second in 1:55.61, just ahead of Russia\u2019s Kirill Prigoda<\/strong> (1:55.71).<\/p>\n

Nic Fin<\/strong>k of the U.S. finished fourth in 1:55.87.<\/p>\n

Laszlo Cseh<\/strong> of Hungary was eighth in 1:56.96.<\/p>\n

Women\u2019s 100 Back<\/h3>\n

Kathleen Baker <\/strong>used a second-half surge to win the 100 backstroke, earning her first World Cup victory.<\/p>\n

The U.S. swimmer was behind Kira Toussaint<\/strong> at the turn but moved ahead down the stretch to win in 55.91, breaking the short-course American record set by Courtney Bartholomew<\/strong> at the Duel in the Pool in 2015 (55.92).<\/p>\n

Australia\u2019s Emily Seebohm<\/strong> was second in 56.07, followed by Hungary\u2019s Katinka Hosszu<\/strong> (56.32).<\/p>\n

Toussaint, of the Netherlands, finished fourth in 56.63.<\/p>\n

Men\u2019s 50 Breast<\/h3>\n

Felipe Lima<\/strong> of Brazil continued to turn in strong performances in the breaststroke, especially in the sprinting events.<\/p>\n

Lima won the 50 breast in 25.92, the only man in the field to break 26.<\/p>\n

Slovenia\u2019s Peter Stevens<\/strong> was second in 26.10, followed by Russia\u2019s Kirill Prigoda<\/strong> (26.30).<\/p>\n

U.S. swimmers Nic Fink<\/strong> (26.49) and Michael Andrew<\/strong> (26.51), followed, finishing fourth and fifth, respectively.<\/p>\n

Women\u2019s 50 Fly<\/h3>\n

Another swim, another victory for Sarah Sjostrom<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Swedish star was three tenths away from a World Cup record in her win in the 50 fly, finishing in 24.61.<\/p>\n

Ranomi Kromowidjojo<\/strong> of the Netherlands was second, just six hundredths behind (24.67).<\/p>\n

Kelsi Dahlia<\/strong> of the U.S. was third in 25.14 and Belgium\u2019s Kimberly Buys<\/strong> was fourth (25.14).<\/p>\n

Men\u2019s 100 Free<\/h3>\n

One night after setting a world record, Vladimir Morozov<\/strong> was back on the top podium.<\/p>\n

The Russian star won the 100 free in 45.69, just four hundredths off of his own World Cup record in the event.<\/p>\n

Blake Pieroni<\/strong> of the U.S. finished second in 46.45, ahead of Russia\u2019s Vladislav Grinev<\/strong> (46.58) and Belgium\u2019s Pieter Timmers<\/strong> (46.97).<\/p>\n

Women\u2019s 100 Breast<\/h3>\n

Russia\u2019s Yulia Efimova<\/strong> remained strong in the breaststroke events, claiming victory in the 100 in 1:03.41.<\/p>\n

Jamaica\u2019s Alia Atkinson<\/strong> led at the turn and finished just behind at 1:03.74.<\/p>\n

Molly Hannis<\/strong> of the U.S. was third in 1:06.65, holding off China\u2019s Yu Jingyao<\/strong> (1:05.71) and Japan\u2019s Reona Aoki<\/strong> (1:06.18).<\/p>\n

Melanie Margalis<\/strong> was sixth in 1:06.25.<\/p>\n

South Africa\u2019s Chad le Clos<\/strong> closed the individual portion of Day 2 with a win in the 200 fly, finishing in 1:51.09.<\/p>\n

Japan\u2019s Yuya Yajima<\/strong> was second in 1:51.87 after leading at the 100 and 150 marks of the race.<\/p>\n

Joeri Verlinden<\/strong> of the Netherlands finished third in 1:53.88, one spot ahead of Hungary\u2019s Laszlo Cseh<\/strong> (1:54.02).<\/p>\n

Mixed 4×40 Free Relay<\/h3>\n

The host Netherlands closed the second day of the Eindhoven World Cup stop with a victory in the 4×400 free relay.<\/p>\n

Jesse Puts, Kyle Stolk, Femke Heemskerk<\/strong> and Ranomi Kromowidjojo<\/strong> finished 1:29.90.<\/p>\n

The U.S. team of Michael Andrew, Blake Pieroni, Kathleen Baker<\/strong> and Kelsi Dahlia<\/strong> finished second in 1:30.88.<\/p>\n

Russia\u2019s Vladislav Grinev, Vladimir Morozov, Mariia Kameneva<\/strong> and Anna Egorova<\/strong> finished third in 1:31.96.<\/p>\n
