NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>Villa Park, California’s\u00a0Katrina Sommer\u00a0<\/strong>will make the move to Bloomington next fall after declaring her intention to swim for Indiana.<\/p>\n

Sommer swims year-round with Irvine Novaquatics and capped off her summer season with a win in the 200m back at California Junior Olympics. Primarily a backstroker, she was a three-time finalist at Carlsbad Speedo Sectionals in March and achieved a lifetime best in the 200 IM at Junior Nationals West last winter.<\/p>\n

Sommer represented Villa Park High School during her junior season at the 2018 CIF State Championships where she finished 15th in the 200 IM and 18th in the 100 back. She placed seventh and tenth, respectively, in those events at CIF-Centrals a week prior.<\/p>\n
