AUBURN University will host the University of Texas this afternoon in a men&#039;s and women&#039;s dual meet that will give the teams their first racing opportunity of 2013. Both teams rested some of their top swimmers for meets in early December, putting swimmers at the top of the collegiate ranks for the season. We&#039;re not likely to see many fast times this weekend, since Auburn and Texas are just coming off holiday training, but there should be some good battles. Marcelo Chierighini of Auburn will be the one to watch in the sprint freestyles, while Texas&#039; Clay Youngquist will likely lead the way in middle distance freestyle in the men&#039;s meet. One of the races to watch on the women&#039;s side will be the 200 breast and the battle between Olympian Micah Lawrence of Auburn and NCAA title contender Laura Sogar of Texas. Olivia Scott will also be one to watch. She has the country&#039;s fastest time in the 100 fly. We&#039;ll let you know how the meet turns out with a recap on swimmingworld.com.<\/p>\n<p>Diving got some exposure last night in a special reality competition TV show titled &#8220;Stars in Danger: The High Dive,&#8221; in which eight celebrities performed dives off the three-meter springboard and five-meter platform. Former Morning Swim Show guest Alexandra Paul was leading all the competitors after the first round, scoring high on a back flip off the springboard. But the &#8220;Baywatch&#8221; star was knocked down in the finals by Antonio Sabato, Jr., who won with a forward one-and-a-half somersault. The show featured commentary by Troy Dumais, who won a bronze medal in London in his fourth Olympic appearance.
