SWIMMINGWORLD.TV is heading to Piscataway, N.J., this weekend for the 22nd-annual Berkeley Aquatic Club&#039;s Winter Long Course Meet, more widely known by its title sponsorship &#8212; the CeraVe Invitational. The meet will take place Jan. 11-13 at the Sonny Werblin Recreation Center at Rutgers University.<\/p>\n<p>The three-day long course meter competition features three sessions: prelim and final sessions of open competition, and an age group timed final session in the middle of the day.  Senior prelims start at 8:20 a.m. ET, while age group timed finals begin at 1:35 p.m.  Senior finals then commence at 6:05 p.m. each evening.  <\/p>\n<p>As we do every year, Swimming World will provide event-by-event video coverage, finals recaps, personality features and video interviews of the meet. Everything can be found on the <a href=http:\/\/tv.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/events\/2013-cerave-invitational target=_blank> 2013 CeraVe Invitational<\/a> event landing page. <\/p>\n<p>Swimming World will live stream all three sessions each day at the <a href=http:\/\/tv.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/events\/2013-cerave-invitational target=_blank>event landing page<\/a>.  Additionally, Swimming World will go live during finals on both our SwimmingWorld.com and SwimmingWorld.TV home pages. <\/p>\n<p>As an added bonus, this year Swimming World will also be streaming live to viewers on their smartphones and tablets. Go to <a href=http:\/\/www.ustream.tv\/SwimmingWorldTV target=_blank>www.ustream.tv\/SwimmingWorldTV<\/a> to follow us and receive a notification when the stream is live.  Also, you can download the Ustream App and search for Swimming World to watch live from your smartphones or tablets.<\/p>\n<p>Olympic gold medalist Katie Ledecky and Olympic bronze medalist Lia Neal are scheduled to compete in the meet. World-record holder Rebecca Soni will also make an appearance and sign autographs the afternoon of Friday, Jan. 11.  <\/p>\n<p>Ledecky will be representing DC-based Nation&#039;s Capital Swim Club at the invitational. She rose to stardom at the London Olympics when she won a gold medal in the 800 freestyle as a 15-year-old, with the second fastest time in history in the event.<\/p>\n<p>Neal, now finishing her senior year of high school, is swimming the meet representing NYC-based AGUA. Neal qualified for the London Olympics in the 100 freestyle, and earned a bronze medal at the Games in the 400 freestyle relay.  <\/p>\n<p>The meet will also include a pair of Paralympic medalists in NBAC&#039;s Ian Silverman (gold) and Becca Myers (bronze).<\/p>\n<p>In addition to hosting an appearance by Soni, Berkeley Aquatic Club will also be taking donations during the course of the meet to benefit the Fran Crippen Elevation Foundation (FCEF).  <\/p>\n<p>According to the <a href=http:\/\/francrippen.org\/about-the-foundation target=_blank> Foundation&#039;s Website, <\/a> the goal of the organization is to:<\/p>\n<p><i>&#8220;&#8230;empower and protect individuals as they elevate themselves in pursuit of their lifelong dreams. As a central voice for athlete safety, we focus on enhancing the culture of respect for athletes&#039; protection. We actively advocate for safe competitive environments, with a focus on open water swimming events. Fran Crippen&#039;s boundless enthusiasm taught us much about enjoying life, embracing opportunities, and having dreams.
